Family Trees
Norris Gilks

We have been able to trace our various Family Trees back quite a few years but have not
been as successful yet with Marlene's side of the family ( Commerford, Burke, Young ).
If anybody has any information that you think might be helpful drop us a line.

The Gilks Family

Three Gilks brothers came from England, one went to California, another to the Yukon.
There is a record of a Gilks emigrating from England to Blissfield New Brunswick in 1828.
There is no name attached to this.  Need information about Earl Gilks ancestry.

The Larsen Family

Pop Larsen emigrated to Canada from Norway landing in Halifax on a ship.  Need info on his travels from Halifax and his prior history in Norway.  Need info on Arbeau history.

The Adams /Forsyth Families

Need info on Forsyth and Adams.  Would like to Know background, when/why come to Canada.  From where?

The Commerfords

Have no info except that they were Irish.

The Burke Family

Burkes came to Canada from Ireland as a result of a plague, wiping out the  family except 3 boys.
These boys were taken in and mistreated badly.  We believe an uncle paid their way to Canada.
One settled in Thorold, Ontario.  Another went to western Canada.

James Burke married Hanorah Young from Port Colbourne? Welland? and had 4 children,
Mary, Catherine, Patrick and James
