My First Book!!! - Surviving Inclusion

What a thrill! The subtitle really should be All the Things I Learned the Hard Way Printed Here So You Don't Have to Learn It All the Hard Way.

Published by Scarecrow Education it is now available. When ordered online there is a savings of 15%. For more information see the Scarecrow Education page for Surviving Inclusion.

Surviving Inclusion is based on the second online course. The monstrously long title is: Inclusion - Successful Strategies and Assistive Technologies for Special Needs/ESL Learners in the Regular Classroom. To learn more about this course and the other courses I have written or currently teach, use the Courses button.

My Second Book!!! - How to Be a Great Online Teacher - My second book is about... well ... online teaching. That much is apparent from the title, right?! The book is designed to help new and practicing online instructors with the nuts and bolts of connecting with their learners.

Most of the training I've had in online learning was about the mechanics of running the course and very little addressed how to connect with the learners and get them connected to each other. The success of an online course is dependent on those human connections so my book is designed to fill that training niche that is largely going unfilled right now.

Magazine Articles

MultiMedia Schools - In addition to writing books and online courses I have had two magazine articles published by MultiMedia Schools.

Excel as You've Never Seen It - Jan/Feb 2002 issue. The full text of the article is available on the MMS site. The project shows how to use background images in Excel spreadsheets to extend the uses of Excel.

This project is also the subject of a Microsoft Virtual Classroom Tour on the Microsoft Education site. Use this link to see the Interactive tour of the Interactive Egypt Map.

Avoiding Pornography Landmines While Traveling the Information SuperHighway - May/June 2002 issue. The article includes lots of good ways for teachers to avoid having students get unintended results while using the Internet for classroom research. The full text has been placed on this site at the link below.
