Malaysia as we all see today is one of the best and leading country among other developing countries. Our country has attained a lot in the aspect of technology and development of new technology under the leadership of our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohammad.
The development and progress in the area of Technology that we see today is here today due to Dr Mahathir’s sole effort. He is the one who always gave importance and emphasises on the technological development. Besides that, if Malaysia is one of the leading country in the aspect of Information Technology (hardware specifically) which is also equipped with Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) or Silicon Valley of Malaysia is merely because of him. Moreover he is the very person who made our country to move from Industrial age to Information age in a short period of time.
Dr
Mahathir is the one who put his ideas into practice and transformed Malaysia
from an exporter of rubber and tin, into an Asian tiger producing electronic
equipment, steel and cars (Proton and Perodua). Besides that, the major and
efficient communications technology that we have today here in Malaysia is
mainly because of Dr Mahathir. Currently our country even ventured into latest
communication technology such as 3G phone communication and mms (multimedia
messaging service).
Other
technological development in areas such as engineering, medicine, aeronautics
and aerospace, petroleum, information technology and so many other fields is
also because of Dr Mahathir. It is because he wanted all the current and major
role playing fields to be technologically advance and by becoming
technologically advance, Malaysia has a great chance to become a fully developed
nation by the year 2020.
All the above mentioned technological developments are just the major ones because our Premier has done a lot more than what has been listed here. Without his sincere effort to see Malaysia as a country in the technological track with other leading countries, we would not be enjoying all these technological comfort.
Therefore, in my humble view, Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohammad should be known as the Father of Technology of Malaysia (Bapa Teknologi) as a title of respect to his contributions in the aspect of Technology.
