A Woman
February 06 dinner at Bravos - The Reds and the Wantabes turned out 12 strong to enjoy a delicious dinner at Bravos!  What a great time!  The menu and service were fabulous and the fun and laughter priceless!  Lots of fellow diners-out stopped at our table to see what all the fun and red hats were about!  All gave us the "thumbs up"  and said "You go girls!"  Our laughter was infectious!

It was decided to limit membership to The Reds and the Wantabes to 25.  That leaves just 2 openings.  Phew!  New pink hatter Cathy made it in just in time!  Oops!  Colleen, where was your hat?  Punishment for non-hat wearing was discussed with smiles all around.  Should we be required to sing the official Red Hat Society song if we forget our hats?  Queen Colleen was sporting new funky rings that blinded our eyes with their brilliance!  Future meeting ideas were offered.

The March meeting is set for Thursday, March 06, 7:15 pm  at the Three Rivers Theatre to see "Chicago".  After movie treats at
Goldies!
March 06 movie :  "Chicago, Chicago!  It's my kind of town! Especially after seeing the screen production at the Three Rivers 6 Theatre tonight!  It was funny!  It was clever!  It was sexy!  (Just didn't see enough of Richard G!)  The dancing was spectacular.  The jail scene where the ladies pleaded their cases was inspirational!!!!  I'm convinced "They all (the men) deserved it!!!  Ha!  It was another fun night with, popcorn, pop and  perfect company.

It was a tough decision with too much going on in April, but we finally picked Tuesday, April 15 for our next get-together.  We'll be meeting  between 6:00-6:15 at the Chicago Grill Restaurant in the TR Inn for dinner.  A sampling of the menu will be coming via e-mail, so check your
Red Hat boxes ladies!

We also decided to order official Red hat pins.  Check your e-mail for pin choices, pick the one you like best and send your vote to the Queen!

Our group was small, but the laughter and fun was
very BIG!  Now what was that about Cranberrys and sex?  Here's your sign!!! The Reds and the Wantabes had a hilarious time!  Our eyes were bugging out of our heads when the mile high sandwiches were delivered to our table.  Wow!  Bring on the doggie bags!  Then the desserts came. . . one of each offered of course!  Mmmmm!  The Creme Brule won first prize as each deliriously, delectable,  delicious decadent delicacy was passed around the table.    Everyone in attendance received a very special (smile) Reds and Wantabes pin/button which they proudly wore on their lovely purple attire.  Mary had on a really cute red hat pin that her Mom got for her in Florida.  We're going to see if she can get one for each of us at the bargin price of $5.00 each.  Lots of photos were taken.  Check back later to see the fun!
The next Reds and Wantabe's big event is planned for Thursday, May 15 in Kalamazoo.  We are going to . . . hold onto your hats ladys . . play LAZER Tag at 6:00 and then slide on over to Brann's for dinner.  What a hoot that will be with a bunch of grannies in purple and red ducking and dodging and shooting each other with lazers.  There will be at least two teams . . . The "Wheel Chair Brigade" and those who still operate on two feet!  Ha!  Ask the Queen!  See everyone on May 15!!!!!.

LASER  TAG PICTURES
May 15, 2003  It was Shock and Awe of the Red Hat Laser Brigade!!!  Eight hail and hardy Reds and Wantabes ducked, dodged and lasered their way around a maze of black lights with music blaring and lasers flashing.  There was danger at every corner!  There were alarms and flashes and virbrations and gyrations...ACTION BABY!  We were RED HOT Mamas in lasar vests and purple!

What a great time!  The 7 minute games left us puffing and panting.  (We earned that wonderful dinner at Brann's afterwards for sure!!!)  Even Marlene hobbled around with her foot in a splint.  Just can't keep a good woman down!  Everyone agreed that we'd do it again!  We had "fun, fun, fun 'til the" lady took our lasers away"!

After two games of laser tag we all turned in our gear and headed across town to Brann's for a wonderful dinner of steak, ribs, huge salads, prime rib, and of course...ice cream on brownies!!!  We were entertained by Brann employee Jeremy who lived in another zone.  We made him an official
Red and Wantabes and presented him with our pin.  He promised to buy a pink hat the very next day!  [smile]  We had a ball!  Oodles of pictures were taken and the usual interested "spectators" stopped by our table to cheer us on!

The summer schedule of fun events was worked on and refined.  See our
CALENDAR OF EVENTS page for details!  Next Reds and Wantabes fun time will be June 12.  We'll be floating down the river on pontoons so get out your purple bathing suits ladies!

June 26, 2003 Pontoon Ride
After a disappoinnting rain-out date, our pontoon boat ride finally made a "blig splash" in the St. Joseph River in Mendon, MI.  Eleven Reds and Wantabes climbed into Mary's pontoon for a sunny, laugh-filled ride. Click here for pictures!   We snacked on sweet cherries, pretzels, fruit pizza and melting chocolates.  At one time  our prop got twisted up with nylon rope and then the motor wouldn't start.  As our galant rescuer came around the bend in another pontoon, we finally got things working again. Thank goodness we didn't have to start rationing the chocolates! Thanks Mary!
