| Naz Farm Continued... |
| So the next day, we were woken up early again. We had prayer, followed by chores. I ended up building a bonfire with NickHuck and my chore group. After chores, we had french toast for breakfast. Then we held parking lot prayer. Here, There, and Yonder piled into the suburban again and this time we headed to Hammer's work site. We went to the Beverly's house where we were rolling shingles, taring, and hammering them in. WHAT FUN! The tar-ing was messy.. but I had really wanted to HAMMER! I love that... its so much fun beating the crap out of that nail, when you're actually doing something constructive. Anyway. So the tar got all over us anyway, and we had our own "Tar Wars" when I got some tar on my hands and wiped it off on Gabe. Candy also got in on the fight. By the end of the day, we were covered with tar. We ended up getting 10 layers of shingles on... WAY TO GO HERE, THERE, AND YONDER! We worked super fast. When we got home, I took my only indoor shower.. and it felt sooooo good! We had spagetti for dinner, and I didnt eat all of mine, so I offered it to Jeff, and he couldnt eat anymore, so NickHuck ate the rest of it. Jeff said NickHuck should be my hero cause I hate spagetti. GO NICKHUCK. After dinner we had a bonfire...It was so hot. You could only stand so close cause it was like a thousand degrees! I roasted marshmallows for smores, and then Kelly, David, Me, Kristina, and Alison went star gazing. It was funny cause David had never seen a shooting star before. So he was asking me what to look for. When he finally DID see his first shooting star, I was cracking up. It was so funny... all at once everyone pointed and said "THERE"S ONE!!"Llol. It was great. When they told us it was lights out, we went up to the attic to play Mafia! That was fun, but I think people were getting a little offended cause they were killed. But its all good. The next day Here There and Yonder had homecrew. We made eggs and potatoes for breakfast and then we packed everyones lunches. I got to ring the bell to get everyone in from chores. YAY! I had my own table that I had to serve people. I had Alison, Sharon, NickHuck, Megan, Hope, and Carmon. I had to get them all hot chocolate and coffee. When breakfast was almost over, NickHuck decided we didnt need the spatulas for slide scrape and stack... cause we were going to lick our plates clean... and we did! Lots of people were "eww"ing and stuff. But I thought it was funny. My work group cleaned the dishes and the kitchen after dinner, and then we joined everyone for parking lot prayer. When they were pullling out, we cheered and wished them a great day and to be safe, and then we headed back inside to clean the dorms, mudroom, barns, and bathrooms. We had leftovers for lunch. Go figure.. I hate spagetti. So I had Naz Farm Sandwiches and my favorite! Cinnamon Cheese Toast! Candy looked alittle disgusted, but Gabe tried it and liked it. So maybe I'm not that strange. We came up with our "Remember Rock" and went outside to the creek bed to find some smooth flat rocks. We gathered 49 of them and cleaned them off and dried them in the sun. When they were dried, we wrote on them with sharpies.. they said "God loves you.. and we do too! Nazareth Farm Aug 4th through the 10th 2002. After that i took a Bucket shower! That was so much fun. I told my parents we should build one cause its fun being naked outside taking a shower. We finnished our freetime, and then pickeled cucumbers with Sister Paula and actually we pickeled one zuccinni cause Jessica didnt know it wasnt a cucumber! lol. We also made brownies. When everyone came home, we ran outside yelling and clapping like crazy. I was glad everyone was home. And I wanted to hear their stories from the day. I gave everyone a HUGE hug... even the group covered in tar. It was a great feeling. We had a cookout with hamburgers that Bruce had grilled. He's the Master Chef. After dinner, we went to prayer and we wrote letters to the groups that would be coming to Naz Farm after us. We had a Breakfast Club meeting after that to talk about how everyones week was going. Then after lights out, in the O'Conner room, Gabe asked me how to leg wrestle. So I showed him, and beat him. Lol... it was difficult though. And then I beat Josh and then followed by Dillon. I had fun. Leg Wrestling is one of my favorite things to do.. cause its goofy like me. Then we played Moose. I was SOOO close too! I ended up being elephant and then I LOST!! Oh well. You win some, you lose some. I had given Megan my pillow that night cause she had forgotten hers at home, and her neck and back was bothering her. I gladly gave mine up cause I knew that I could sleep quite comfortably without it. And I did! The next morning, Sister Paula woke us up with banging pots and pans. That is easily the ugliest sound ever. And to be woken up to it! ARG! We had blueberry pancakes, and parking lot prayer, and then Here There and Yonder went with Kay to go to Energy Express. We loaded and unloaded supplys from the school into the community center. Lol... That required "Big Guns". When all the moving was done, we went to recess with the kids. They loved to have big kids give them piggy back rides.. unfortunately they were soaking wet from the water balloon fight earlier and they liked to hold on to our necks and hit us with their shoes to get us to go faster. Yeah that was great. Then Gabe got a bunch of kids to get a football game going. Tony and My team was called "The Bulldogs", and Candy and Gabe's team was called "The Little Giants". I tried to let the little kids do most of the work (and besides, every time I took a step, I ended up running them over). Except for the one throw I decided to grab out of the air. Lol... Gabe went for the same one and we both leapt....and ran into each other in the air! HAHA! That was great. And my team won! For lunch we got to eat in the school cafeteria. YAY! And the menu served Pepperoni Rolls! They were the best. We then left for the pool! It was starting to get really warm outside, so the pool sounded like a great idea. Here, There, and Yonder was the first group at the pool. We wern't allowed to get into the pool until at least another group was there. So we played on the playground. I'm sure that must have been a sight. A bunch of teenagers, many of us seniors in high school or graduated in Tony's case, all swinging and going down the slides. It was a blast. I could be a little kid again where my only worry was if the swing was going to break! When another group got there, we changed and jumped into the pool. Some people did some really cool dives, but some looked like they hurt. And now here's Gabes little claim to fame.. he said he wanted to be in my web page so here's his little thing that everyone will remember! Gabe left his pants in the bathroom! lol sorry, Gabe, I found that really funny. Tell me if you dont want that in here! GEE, I DIDNT THINK THIS WILL TAKE THIS LONG! |
