| The chalice can be used in the place of the cauldron if the it is impractical at that time or place. The chalice is also used for initiation and dedication ceremonies as well as holidays, rituals and to honour the Gods and Goddesses. The chalice can be made of any safe watertight material including silver, brass, gold, clay, crystal and glass. The chalice is a symbol of fertility and emotion. In ritual the chalice can represent the female and the athame the male. When the athame is lowered into the chalice it symbolises the union of the God and Goddess. |
