BIRDS WE HAVE SEEN AT SERENITY CABIN

Viewers are likely to see many of our resident birds such as the American Crow, American Robin, Band-tailed Pigeon, Common Raven, Dark-eyed Junco, Mountain Chickadee, Mourning Dove, Pygmy and White-breasted Nuthatch, Purple and House Finch, Northern Flicker, Stellar�s Jay and White-headed and Acorn Woodpecker. You may also see some of the less common feeder station birds, seasonal or migratory birds such as the Black-headed Grosbeak, Brown-headed Cowbird, European Starling, Lesser and Lawrence�s Goldfinch, Oak Titmouse, Pine Siskin, Scrub Jay, Western Tanager, White-crowned and Golden-crowned Sparrow. Mountain Chickadee - these always wake us up in the morning with their cute noises!
American Robin - they have a sing-song call in the Spring and early Summer..but they eat all our wildflower seeds out front!
Western Tanager - they have a robin-like call, but hoarser..my favoite bird of the forest!
Nuthatches - White breasted..we see lots of these
Nuthatches - Red breasted..only see a few of these
Nutchatches - Pygmy..only see these rarely
Acorn Woodpecker - lots of these in the oak trees
White Headed Woodpecker..had a pair of these at our feeder! Birders flock to Idyllwild to get a glimpse of these.
Ladder-backed Woodpecker - Saw one of these in the Fall and nearly dropped my glasses!
Western Bluebird - saw a beautiful male in the back yard last Spring
Raven - these guys fly around at dusk and evenings and make a LOT of racket!
