Music is a higher revelation than philosophy. -Beethoven

Playing the flute is one of my big passions in life. Actually at one point I was considering persuing a professional career playing the flute, but then I decided to study earth science at the university instead. I often wonder, though, what life would be like if I had followed this path instead although I do not regret I did not. Instead I just play for fun as an amateur - but a good one :-) !

I have played the flute since 1985. Mostly I play classical music for solo flute, but I have and still do play in orchestras or smaller ensembles. I have also experienced a little with Jazz and alternative music.

For a few years I played in a quintet (five flutes) in Koege but it is limited how many pieces that it is written for 5 flutets! In 1998 I played in a renesance orchestra and a wind orchestra (Herlev Concert Band) where we gave a lot of concerts e.g. in the famous garden TIVOLI of Copenhagen.

In 1998 I also played with a smaller ensemble at the Midtfyns festival 1st-5th  of July.
Many summers I played classical music at Stoevring Hoejskole (pictures) for a week. And for a few years I also took flute lessons by Mads Johansen.

Now I play in a few smaller ensembles (Flute, Clarinett, Basoon ans sometimes piano). Once in a while we give prive concerts (Concert the 19th of September 2004) and we play at the old Midevil castle Gjordslev.

I have also been involved in the recordings for the Holberg play "Den Vaegelsindede" at The Royal Theatre in Copenhagen which had its first performance the 27th of January 2000 and the Shakespeare play "Twelfth Night" at Groennegaards outdoor theatre June 2001.
I am also a member of the "Dansk Kammermusik Forbund" (Danish chamber music union) where we among other things meet each year and play a lot of chamber music the whole day at the academy of music.
I recently followed a theoretical/practical music course (Vesterbro Enkeltfag) where we learned about the wonderful setup of music and a lot more. Which I followed up with some courses at Folkeuniversitetet where I was introduced to a lot of classical music I did not know of before. Finally I have also maked a small beginning of playing the piano, although the progress is slow.
