Welcome to Phil the Scary Salamander's Website

This is Phil, who lives in my Biology book.

He is upset that all the molecules got personified, and Darwin's finches got all the attention, while he only got two photos and one mention in another chapter. I told him that that was pretty good for such a scary-looking salamander, but he wasn't satisfied. So I told him I'd make him a website, but I never got around to it, and made him a poetry project instead. He liked that, but still wanted the website, so here it is.

Now, I'm warning you, this is an X-Files website mostly. Since he lives in the biology book, he noticed all the pictures of other odd or scary animals that he thinks ought to be investigated by Mulder and Scully. Some of them should be, like that giant python eating a gazelle whole, and the blue-footed boobies. And lobsters. I don't like lobsters.

OK, I'm just going to turn it over to Phil now, since this is his website.

I'm Phil, this is my website. It has lots of pictures, so if you or your modem don't like that, go find some other salamander website. But I don't think you'll find one. Just now I am feeling really proud of myself for being the only html-writing salamander. Hey! I did that! So you can blame the mistakes on her. Now, these are the pictures, and they're not really arranged in any particular order.

This is that python I was talking about.

You wouldn't think it's scary because you're too big to be eaten, but if this thing can eat a whole gazelle, then I had better stay away from Africa (or wherever).

One bad thing about biology books (and the videos, too) is that they show you the gigantic, nasty pictures of bugs through an electron microscope. This is a fruitfly with legs for antennae, so maybe it's a Drosophila legopedia?

I just want to say, adopt a genetically malformed kittycat. They need your love just as much as any other pet . . . I'm just glad this never happens to salamanders.

Phil and I are constantly (hah!) improving and adding stuff to this site, so come back when we have more pictures. Or read Phil's poetry project.

Here is the story of a man who became a salamander just like Phil.
