Kat and Cliff - How We Met

Katrina

Kat began attending Central Michigan University in Fall 1999. During her first year at CMU she lived in Herrig Hall where she met a bunch of wonderful new friends. Especially the girls across the hall in 106 and the guys in 113. During her second year, she moved to a different Dorm (Emmons Hall) but remained friends with her Herrig friends.

Clifton

After attending Jackson Community College and Lake Superior State University in his first years of college, Cliff decided to transfer to CMU, where his cousin Brian was attending. He moved into Herrig 113 in Fall 2000.

The Meeting

Cliff and Kat met for the first time in the middle of Woldt Dinning Commons in August 2000 when she went to meet her friends for dinner the first night that it opened for the semester. Although certain friends (those Room 106 girls)had been trying to hook them up since September, Cliff and Kat remained acquaintances for the fall semester. It was not until January, after the holiday break, that they started to become good friends.

The First Date

In mid-February 2001, shortly after Valentine's Day, Cliff asked Kat on their first date. They went to the ICE Arena where they had an enjoyable time knocking down unsuspecting skaters as they fumbled akwardly on the ice. Afterward they went out for Hot Chocolate at Big Boy where they laughed and enjoyed each other's company.

It's Official

On March 1, the last day of mid-terms and the day before spring break, Cliff asked Kat to be his girlfriend. She thankfully said yes!
