Stories Of Reno's
Life
~ When Reno was little he carried around a blanket wherever he went. If he seen you with his blanket, he would take his 80 pound body and jump on top of you and snatched it back.
~ When he got a little bit older, he started carrying around a pillow. He always had to sleep with one. One time he was in my Mom and dad's room looking out the window and was laying on my mom's pillow. Well, my Mom wanted it so she took it form him and put it back at the top of the bed. Reno got up and grabbed the pillow and took it back to the spot where he was laying. So then my Mom took it once again from him, and once again he took it back form her. This went one for a good minute. Reno then gave up and left the room.
~ Reno always through fits. They were really bad when he was a little puppy. When he didn't get his way with things, he would go to his water bowl, stick his front paws in the dish and start scooping all the water out until it was all over the floor. He did this at least five times a day.
~ Reno was also a thief. Whenever my dad was working in the yard or house, he always seemed to be missing something that he had just been working with. RENO!!! Reno would steel his tools and run with them, which made everyone have to chase after him. At times he would hide the tools on him. My brother would get yelled at for "not putting the tools back when he was done with them" ...... when really ....... Reno was at fault. He always had to be the center of attaching.
~ Reno was always an excited dog. Whenever anyone came home he
would grab the closest thing to him which was almost all the time, a towel. He would
take it and run all through the house.
~ He was a really good wrestler. I had to pin him down all the time just so that he wouldn't attack me. Whenever I was winning, my Mom would come in and help him. She would pull me off him then he would jump on me. They cheated!
Sports ...... Reno loved sports ......
~ He loved to play basketball. Whenever someone
was playing, he would steal the ball from you so that you would have to chase him in order
to get it back.
~ At times, you would catch him playing soccer. Reno really loved playing it with the gerbil's ball. He mostly like it when the gerbil was in the ball!
~His most favorite thing to do was to skateboard. Yes, I said skateboard. I made him his own that he used all the time. Every time he went outside he would ride it across the pavement and back again. He really liked to run into peoples ankles with it.
~Gloves. Don't let Reno catch you wearing gloves on your hands. He will attack them until you took them off of he got them off. Once you take them off, put them in a good hiding place, because if he finds them, he would chew on them and rip them to shreds. My dad went through a few leather pairs that way.
~When you are planting flowers or pulling weeds, don't let Reno come by. My dad was ounce pulling weeds in the backyard and putting them in a bucket. Come to find out, Reno was taking the weeds form the bucket and putting them back in the garden!
~Reno's most favorite thing to do on Sunday was to go for a walk. When he wanted to go ... you took him. He knew exactly when it was Sunday and exactly where his leash was. Even if you moved it each week ... he would find every time. He would stand where his leash was and look up at it then look back at you until you got up to take him. If you didn't pay attaching to him, he would come up to you and scratch at your arm or lift your arm him with his nose until you got annoyed with it or took him for his walk. Once you put the leash on him, he thought that he was going to walk himself. He would put the leash in his mouth and walk right out the door.
Special things that Reno knew how to do .......
Sit, lay, high five, low five, on the side, giving small kisses when asked, jumping 5 feet in the air, opening the gate, letting himself in and out of the back door, waking everyone up everyday at 8:00am sharp!
~Don't try and give a 80 pound mutt a bath. He will just jump out and shake all over YOU
~Reno loved running through the sprinkler trying to bit the water as it sprayed him in the face ....... it's a very funny thing! My Mom has a cow sprinkler and the tail goes all over the place shooting water. Reno used to try and catch the tail. That was even funnier!
Reno was a great dog. Still to this day, I miss him a lot! Not one day goes by that I don't think about how much fun I would be having with him at that moment. I wish I had more stories to tell you about him, but there is only so much a dog can do.
