My dog Reno was the best dog I have ever had.   Did I mention that he was also the smartest?   He was a friendly dog and was only mean when he had to be.   Whenever someone would even walk down my street, Reno would go crazy barking and running from room to room because he knew it was his duty to protect the one's he loved.   And even though he hated my brother ..... he protected him as well.   Reno was a big strong 80 pound dog.   Pure muscle!   He was a golden retriever mixed with chow, lab, and rottweiler.  A pure mutt!  :0)

The only reason why Reno hated my older brother and was scared of him was because my brother was always real mean to him and would hurt him.    For a while Reno would try and like him and wanted to like him, but my brother was just to mean for him.   That's when Reno knew that he had to start fighting back.   He knew that I would protect him from my brother, so whenever he came home ..... Reno would stand by me and bark and growl at him.   My brother always yelled at him for stupid things like barking.   Reno knew that my brother hated it and did those things just to get on his nerves.   One night Reno really got him good.   My brother was yelling at him and Reno walked up to him and kicked him in the groin!   My brother fell to his knees in pain.    It was GREAT!

Four days before Christmas 1999 ..... Reno let himself out of the back gate and was hit by a mini van in front of my house.  He was hit on the right side of the head.  The lady that hit him, I guess was crying real bad.   She told the police that he lived for a few minutes, but by the time the police got there ..... he was dead.
I had know idea on what was going on until I got a phone call from the police department telling me that my dog was dead.   That knocked me down for a long time and put a strong downer on my Christmas.   He died at the age of 2 1/2.
