Circle Castings
A circle is a ring of power that surrounds you while you are performing any sort of magick, or doing anything that you want protection for. A circle can be cast the will stand by itself, this os used mostly for spellwork and other smaller activities. Another kind of circle is used at a full ritual. These kinds have a guarding at each cardinal direction, usually called elementals or quarters. Here are a few examples which we use frequently.
Simple casting, no elements
Simple Circle Casting and Releasing
Ground and center. Imagine a mist of purple swirling energy flowing clockwise around you. Mentally push it out to the desired size of the circle. As you imagine the mist extending itself and forming a sphere around you say:
Circle flow & circle grow
As above, so below
The circle is now sealed.
Let naught but good enter in.
Let naught but good exit out.
When you are ready to close the circle, imagine the misty bubble condensing back into a circle.
Then draw the circle's mist back into your cauldron, athame, or piece of jewelry, while saying:
Circle wane & circle stop
Up from the bottom.
Down from the top.
The circle is open, but never broken.
Always it remains.
