Descendants of Harrison
Harrison Blinn
I have come across a little problem concerning Harrison, so I present what I know here and maybe someone out there can help.  These are possibly the same Harrison and all or part of them is a mistake or has missing information.  There were two Harrisons, one the son of James and Jane, the other the son of James and Abigal.  Most likely this Harrison married Eunice and the Almira reference is an error, but with the way names are constantly repeated and references scarce the are several possible explanations, if anyone can help me fit in this information, please contact me.  The references are following:
Harrison, was born in Woolwich,  married Eunice Meserve, of Kennebunk. children: Almira H., William, Bradbury, Margaret, Amy, Harrison, Alden, Mary Ann. Bradbury married Susan Houdelette, daughter of Charles Houdelette. child: Winfield S (
Hist. of Dresden p542)
Harrison Blinn, married abt 1813 to Elmira (?) in Dresden ME. children: Bradbury, Elmira, Margaret, William (

An interesting story about Gilmore is found on page 627 of The History of Dresden, Maine.  In the 1830s, the US government distributed a surplus of revenue and the states dispersed it in various ways.  Maine gave its share to the towns on a per capita basis.  Dresden choose to divide and distribute the money to its citizens instead of using it for public good as some chose to do.  "The indignation of Gilmore Blenn at the action of the state and town dividing this money was so great that he refused to accept his share.  Tradition affirms that he was very active in opposition; that in town meeting 'he hollered himself hoarse.'  He claimed that the action was a violation of constitutional law.  Some years afterward, however, he accepted the money, as is seen by the action of the town in 1854, when it voted to pay him his share without interest."

from an email:
You have the best information on the Blinn(Blen) family that I have found yet on line. I think that I am in the 7th. generation as Owen
Daniel Blen (Blinn) was my Grandfather. ... .Owen also had a sister named Florence which you did not have on the site ,which I can probably get more info for you if interested also Owen had son Parker Harris and Leona Elsie .I am Parkers son and have
one sister Miriam Loueva Blen (Turner) ...          Harold Austin Blen (Blinn)
right: Owen Blenn's House in Dresden ME about 1980 (from the back of the photgraph taken by James Blinn, This info is incorrect, I am leaving it until I can find the original photo and correct it)
"The picture of the house you published is not Owens house, his house still stands about 1 mile south of this one pictured on Rt # 27 in Dresden. The house you show was Maurice Blinn's house in Dresden Mills village, which has been moved and restored in Pittston on a restored village site (Tutthill) about nine miles north of original site in Dresden"
