Kaliakra 2002

"Differences of habits and languages are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open"-These lines from one of Harry Potter`s books occurred to me when I was preparing my part of bookleaf, devoted to our First SEMEP Summer School in Varna, Kaliakra 2002.

Although my school isn`t  for young magicians like Houghart, it`s only the National Coordinator for SEMEP in Bulgaria and our partners from the College of Agriculture-Tulcea-Roumania, are just young girls and boys eager to meet Bulgaria and its representatives, not participants in the "Tournament", we did it together.

We worked together over the tasks in the worksheet, we helped each other to cope with the challenges.

It was important to be a part of a team, the one of

• The Shrimps

• The Dolphins

• The Crabs

• The Sea Horses

• The Jelly Fishes 

It was the most difficult one, altogether with using our imagination and skills, creativity, knowledge of English and nature and a lot of other things.

Of course it all could be done better, but it was my first attempt. Like  students I`m learning by doing.

      The spirit of friendship and competition was amazing and worth seeing it.

      I  hope that all the participants, hearing Roumania or Bulgaria remember their new friends, looking forward to meeting them again.

      Also, I feel more confident about our future work-out students proved themselves as smart,intelligent,a little bit noisy and disobedient, but inquisitive and learning fast.

      I`m sure they learned a lot not only about their native town and sea, but also human relationship and the importance of being representative of something new and challenging like kaliakra-2002.

      This was their first step and I think they will go on .Our students just need supporting and loving teachers, motivation and awareness of their role in our society. Together we can live on "the sunny side of the street", where to meet new friends, love, understanding, knowledge.We can do wonderful things together and remember that differences don`t matter so much if have the will to overcome them, for a better, cleaner and happier world of ours.
