This is spring in Darmstadt. Lots of flowering trees.
This is near my place, an optometrists office. Note the tulip magnolias tree.
Centre town. This is the Darmstadt Castle, university classes are now held in it. You can also see the market place with a few vegetable stands. This is one of the places where every fair sets up.
A few of Hessen Park (I think I have the name wrong). I have a nice earlier photo showing snow here, but of course, it is not digital.
I take this street every day to work. Good ol' cobble stone. Look how narrow it is, and it isn't one way. There is usually just enough room for a bike and a car, although sometimes the car has to stop or slow down to make sure we don't hit. As a note to drivers and cyclists, cobble stone is very slippery when wet...I almost but not quite fell one morning. Another morning I crashed into another cyclist near work. He wasn't very happy, although I don't think it was just my fault...
I believe they are going to be opening this jazz club up soon. I look forward to trying it out. This is one cool thing about Germany, they have shops throughout the whole town, not just in mall or commercial zones. As an example, my 2 mile route from home to work, which is mostly side streets, I pass by 4 backeries, with at least another 2 within a block or two of my route. Sometimes, I complain about the fewer hours that shops are open here, but at least they are located close by so you can visit them on your way to or from work.
Again, the tulip magnolias.
St. Michaels church I believe. I was there for the first Sunday of Lent.
