Health benefits of the chemicals in fruits
Recently  many tests have been done involving health benefits in the chemicals of fruit.
1) Eating fresh fruits and vegetables can help prevent serious diseases incuding cancer. The charity Cancer Reaserch UK has found that eating just one more apple or orange a day could cut the risk of dying from cancer of other diseases in half.

2) It has also been found that boosting the intake of vitamin C found in fruit may cut the risk of death from heart disease. Also vitamin C is used to boost the immune system and keep off flus. Vitamin C also destroys harmful substances in the body that can cause cancer.
3) Scientists have found that chemicals found in fresh apple skins may be able to help fight cancer. The chemicals involved in this are flavanoids and polyphenols. Combined these chemicals have an anti-oxidant ability. To test their cancer fighting abilities scientists used colon cancer cells and they found that 50mg of the phytochemicals taken from the apple skin slowed the reproduction of the cells by 43%.
