For the walls I painted them with the Shallow Root and then took 75% glaze and mixed in about 10% Shallow Root, 10% Brown Park & 5% Pink Gardenia and sponged it onto the walls. The walls were textured already and now they look like they were plasterd. I am really pleased. I painted the trim semi-gloss white. I broke the rules and used satin for the walls.
I picked out a border at my favorite wallpaper
store - Sun Coast Paints. It had magnolias & books and I just love it. It
also had a color in it that matched the cabinets exactly! I painted the inside of
the cabinets the pink color. It really looks good peeking out of the glass front cabinets. We will in the future put in some beveled & stained fronts. We have to make them ourselves.
I choose a polished brass handle, traditional, nothing fancy. We are still working on these cabinets and have the pantry to create,
so please return to see our progress. But for now - let's talk about DECORATING COMPROMISES and see a little more of
the kitchen.
