To say that The Great KAT is a great guitarist is like saying Superman is an ok guy, both statements are way off base and way too simple. Kat although a relative unknown in some small uneducated circles is probably the most talented and underappreciated artist in the metal world today.
I first became aware of Kat in highschool when a friend of mine played her classic album "WORSHIP ME OR DIE!!" in his car on the way to a concert, to say I was moved would be an understatement, I had never heard such musical brutallity before or since on top of all of that I had never heard a guitar played so well at such a high speed, I went and bought that album the following day.
I later found out she was a Juilliard graduate and a violin virtuoso, being classically trained she had a technique lightyears beyond the malmsteens and vais of the world, needless to say I have tried to play some of her stuff being a guitarist myself, I can pull off some of the rhythm parts but none of the leads, a hallmark of a guitar genius, no one should ever be able to accurately duplicate your stuff, which she does quite well.
Over the years she has only gotten better and even more complex just pick up a copy of her latest release "WAGNER'S WAR" and you'll see what I mean and why I have chosen her as my first (and probably only):
