The commercial soap industry increasingly overprocesses their soap, while at the same time adding chemical ingredients and additives to increase the lather  and to make the product more appealing to the eye. This is what
the general public appears to want and so it is all about profit margins.

As a result of such over-processing much of the natural healing qualities of the base soaps are lost.  As an example:

" Glycerin, a natural byproduct of the soapmaking process, is a great skin emollient, attracting moisture to
your skin and helping keep moisture in. Glycerin is so valuable, in fact, that most commercial soap companies remove glycerin from their soaps, going on to sell it as a totally separate commodity (sometimes to the explosives industry). The soap-user is the loser here, for soaps without their natural glycerin have lost a significant amount of skin-softening properties.
"

While a majority of shampoos list their ingredients on the bottle, how many bar soaps include such disclosure?  We are left to wonder what is actually in these soaps. Further, what actually are all those additives they are putting into our shampoos & conditioners?

Would you wash your body with laundry detergent or dish soap? Does your soap leave your skin feeling itchy and dry? Commercial soap and body products are largely made up of harsh detergents and known irritants. Did you know that such ingredients are increasingly showing to be actually harmful to the body, especially with consistent use?

Just read the label on your favorite shampoo and see how many ingredients you can even pronounce, let alone identify. One popular shampoo contains the following ingredients:

Alcohol, cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol which serve to dry out the scalp and hair.
Hydroxyethyl cellulose
Synthethic fragrances [ often inducing allergic reactions]
Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine  [?]
Cetareth 20 [?]
Trimethlsilyamodimethicone [?]
Methoxypropyglucanamide [?]
Methylparaben
Propylparaben
Sodium Laurel Sulphate

Take a moment to read the ingredients listed on all your own body & skin care products. Then read the information provided here about
chemical additives & toxins. Even off the shelf products claiming to be 'Herbal' or 'Natural' can be suspect. I have personally become a 'label reader' and am finding myself increasing amazed by the lack of pure or natural products being offered up by the body care industry.
Why choose our handcrafted soap ?
I love making soaps & candles ~ it is my passion. I want to work with you to create your own personalized skin care products and specialty gift packages. In this way you can pick and choose your own items and get exactly what you want rather than pre-selected packages. Of course if you want some creative input, I have plenty of suggestions. I like to offer seasonal gift selections as well.
I am concerned about they myriad toxins entering our bodies via a continual use of skin care products offered by big name companies. This is why I have spent two years researching and testing to offer the purest quality ingredients that are known to be more healthful for the body. I am also concerned about the environment and recycle as much packaging as possible. We are a small home based business utilizing as many local ingredients as possible. I like to be accessible to my clients for answering questions, providing information and giving you a better choice for quality healthful products. Before you order let's consider your personal needs and desires.

Handcrafted soap is made without the harsh chemicals, detergents and petroleum products that cause the loss of moisture from the skin. By using natural and / or vegetable oils instead of animal fats, handcrafted soaps are less likely than commerical soaps to cause clogged pores and allergic reactions.

True soapcrafters see their endeavors as a 'craft' and seek to ensure that quality and purity are honored
