"Once upon a time Mother Owl lived in an ancient oak tree. In the daytime when the sun's light is blinding, she dreams of the adventures told to her by the voices on the wind. In the soft moonlight she finds the sleeping and speaks the stories she has heard, sharing her dreams...." ~~*~~
Hummmm......... I am moving to a new tree which means that all of those stacks of books and games and magazines and movies spread throughout my current tree need to be boxed and taped and carted over to the new hole and untaped and unboxed and sorted out and read and watched again before lovingly stacking them back up onto shelves and into piles. Where do I start. hhhmmmmmmm................ posted by mother owl at 1/16/2009 09:16:00 AM
A modern storyteller uses medieval concepts to write about a young boy growing up and learning what life is really about: be true to your friends, always choose what is right not easy, life is full of good things as well as bad, and courage is just an ordinary person facing fear. J.K. Rowling has created a series of good reading. She also has had the guts to make sure that her concept and story are not completely overshadowed by the mechanics of marketing. J.K. "The mighty oak tree was once a little nut that held its ground." I was a young chick when George Lucas was considered a nut because he wrote, directed, and filmed a space opera called Star Wars. Now the fourth episode in a half dozen, his stories of the Skywalker clan are creating a mighty universe for millions to create and grow their own acorns. Star Wars Galaxies will be the next creative nest for many storytellers and adventurers.
