About Amber DRPGs
The Amber Diceless
Role-Playing Game. A game that, like a play or movie, is set in the
imaginary realities/environment/setting of a place called Amber. Diceless
because major plot decisions are decided by the game master (director/writer)
and the evolving relationships and story lines. Each player (actor)
creates a character to interact in this setting called Amber, with the
game master, and with each other. To fully enjoy the game, it is best
that each player and GM be 'in character' as fully as possible. Therefore:
In the happy, Machiavellian traditions of the royal family of Amber,
I have plotted a Throne War in the land of Ember.
Each player does his/her best to put together a very tough character,
then try to defeat all the other characters to become the 'Scion of
Ember'.
Whoever ends up on the Throne wins.
Everyone else loses.
And chances are, many of you will wish you were dead.
Again and again and again ....
Below are links
that I hope will enrich your understanding of our game, its plot, and
the player characters.

- DMOZ
Amber sites (open directory project)
- Meant to be one
category of "the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory
of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community
of volunteer editors." Currently needs an editor.
Many of these sites are current members of the Golden Circle Webring,
but the handful not duplicated are also worth a look.
- MaBarry,
AmberCon GM, and the LintKing's Amber rules
- MaBarry is very
active in the gaming community. The LintKing's take on the rules of
the game are short, sweet, and utterly tongue-in-cheek. This is a
MUST view.
Amber
Campaign Sites
- Epoch's
Amber Page
- "This page
presents the world-famous (well, not quite) Amber Tips page, designed
to guide a beginning Amber GM into the complexities of the game in
as painless as possible a manner. It also has information about three
campaigns, my Many Paths, my completed A Tale of Blades, and Shannon
Rose and Erik Ny's Too Long in Exile."
- Equinox: An Amber PBEM site
- Play by email
Amber game running since January 1995. The story is a dynamic interplay
of politics and intrigue powered by player interaction. I am extremely
impressed.
- "The
Unicorn's Grove"
- Beautiful Trumps and accurate Elder Generation character studies.
Slow loading for modems, but WORTH it!
Other
Resources
- Advance Lunge
- A ThinkQuest
student created site about the art of fencing.
" We have built a resource which covers all aspects of fencing,
from how to lunge, to where to buy a mask, to the origins and history
of fencing, to where to contact other fencers."
I think they practice what they preach.
- Bid-It:
Diceless RPG System
- A diceless role-playing
game system based on fantasy.
- Scarborough Faire
- Scarborough
Faire® the Renaissance Festival. Located near the Dallas/Ft. Worth
Metroplex.
"Step back in time to the age of King Henry VIII for a day of
fun, food and fantasy. Enjoy feasting, shopping and entertainment
in the 35-acre 16th century Village of Scarborough. Celebrating its
22nd season, Scarborough Faire® the Renaissance Festival is one
of the largest, most popular Renaissance Festivals in the nation."

circles, dolmens, standing stones, cairns, barrows and hillforts:
and other ancient megaliths and sites. Photos and descriptions of
eleven years of touring archæological sites.

- The
Golden Circle Webring
- SoE is a member
of this webring. There is a wide variety of game and character websites
listed. Worth a 'looksee' on a rainy day.
