Most of the cannabis produced is exported to Spain as hashish (resin obtained from the buds), but in Morocco it is mostly smoked as kif (mix of cannabis buds and leaves with tobacco) in a "sipsi" (north african pipe made out of a long bamboo tube with a small foyer at its end)
Seeds are planted in April, after the wheat harvest (the rest of morocco has 2 harvests of wheat per year). Plants grow in spring, and start flowering in june before being harvested between July and September, depending ond the breed and location. Latests harvest are in November. |
