This hike was a highpoint (no pun intended) of our trip. We took the gondola up 3 stops from our village of Hasliberg Reuti to the Alpen tower which was at 2250 meters. The hiking map called it the horizon trail and it was filled with stunning views of the mountains and valleys below. The kids were thrilled to find one patch of snow along the trail. There were 2 different glaciers we could see on other mountains. The hills were alive with a sort of music as well - cow bells! Really!!
We took short breaks along the way but the bench above was only at the half-way point of our 4 hour journey. We did also manage an ice cream stop at an oasis about 45 minutes from the end point where a bus was our means of transport. The kids both slept during the 30 minute bus ride ;-). |
