Burger's Zoo
We had a really good zoo day in Arnhem. The zoo has traditional animal habitats, including an aquarium, as well as some unique ones. We really enjoyed the time spent here in "The Bush" where birds and small animals sometimes crossed our path. The kids really liked crossing this bridge which barely kept them above water. Click check out the zoo on-line.
See what happens when you spend the day with a bunch of animals? You start to act like them and think it's fun!
The safari area was very interesting. We spent a long time watching the zebras running FAST in a game of chase (or some other spring game?) with each other. The animals pictured here also shared this really large space with some rhinos.
Right and below are some views of "Burger's Desert". It was not too hot in this man made environment in March as they change the temperature to match the cycle of the American Southwest. There were reptiles, rodents, the rams at right and many birds including a large hawk that enjoyed gliding over our heads as it flew between two perches.
Yes, we took a few more pictures, but that is enough for here. So far we have been to 3 zoos in Europe and the two in The Netherlands far surpased the one in London. The Netherlands also has a dolphinarium park that we have yet to visit and a primate park, Apenhuel, that was fantastic. As our travels continue, we may become real animal park critics. ;-)
