An Automobile Engineer by profession.
Passionate about building Automobile Prototypes and Vehicle Integration.
Love to perform in an International Work Environment.
More than 15 years of Work Experience in the Automotive Parts & Product Development Industry in India, Oman, Indonesia and North America.
I started my career by dabbling in the development of auto HVAC systems for passenger cars and trucks at the Engineering Research Center, Tata Motors Ltd. India.
My next move took me to the Gulf country of Oman and into the automobile parts business. As country parts manager for BMW cars and motorbikes, I was in-charge of a 4000 strong car park and ensured that they had the necessary spares.
It was not long before my interest in technical aspects of auto product development led me on an assignment to Indonesia. Here I worked side by side with the Javanese youth to train them in all aspects of vehicle design and development, from concept thru testing to production. Special emphasis was on prototype manufacturing and vehicle testing.
We interacted with the Indonesian army to develop a special 14 tonne, 4x4 off road truck to suit their requirements. We also built the chassis for a 40-seater luxury bus and a 6x4 rigid truck.
During my tenure I supervised the training of budding Indonesian engineers at the Steyr Nutzfahrzeuge AG plant in Austria. I was also consulted to evaluate the IPR of a Taiwanese automobile plant that was up for sale.
My immense interest in vehicle integration led me to work on the installation of 2 and 3 cylinder Orbital engines in MPV’s, to understand better, how 2 stroke engine technologies perform when packaged into 4 wheelers.
My interest to know more about cars and trucks then brought me to Detroit in North America where I scanned and digitized medium and heavy, deep draw dies at various GM plants.
A keen sailor, fond of trekking in the mountains, swimming, tennis and golf. |
