| Chapter 2 The kiss electrified with the lightning. When the sounds of thunder crashed, the kiss frenzied. He tangled his hands in her long brown locks, rubbing up against her body. Amber finally broke the kiss, gasping for air. We cant do this... Dale peered up at her, I know. Im sorry. I usually dont let myself get so carried away. he flashed her a nervous smile as he sat up. She also did the same and leaned against the wall. Well, I guess I should be going. The rain seems to have let up some. She slowly started to scoot off of the bed. Ill go with you to help you find your car. He slipped off of the bed and helped her up. She started to lose her balance but he was quick to wrap his arms around her to keep her from falling. She blushed furiously and walked into the main part of the bus to grab her purse. Dale grabbed his sweatshirt and headed out into the slight rainfall alongside Amber. ********* There it is! Amber shouted. She scurried over to her Mustang and smiled at Dale. Thanks so much for being so kind and letting me stay in your bus until the rain lightened up some. He smiled. It was my pleasure. he watched as she unlocked the doors and turned back to him. Will you be at the race tomorrow? Of course. She smiled brightly as the rain started to fade. May I see you again? He felt like a love ridden school boy asking her that but there was just something special about her. He didnt know what it was, but he was determined to find out. If your lucky. She grinned and opened her door. She stopped, turned around and leaned up to give Dale a quick peck on the cheek. Thanks again. She winked at him before she got in her car and drove off, leaving him there stunned. I have *got* to have her. He chuckled and turned on his heel, heading back to his bus before the rain started to pound down on the Earth again. ***** (The next Day) Dale stood, lined up with his crew members and the other race teams, awaiting the National Anthem to be sang. Here to sing the National Anthem is Miss. Amber Whiting. Dale snapped his head in the direction of where the woman was to sing. It was her. The Amber from last night. He about slipped off of the ledge. Holy hot damn... He whispered to himself as the first notes from the song started to play. Her voice really wowed him after she got done singing. She had a beautiful voice. He had to snap out of the trance she had him, if he was going to race today. Dale!, Tony smacked him lightly on the back. Are you going to race today, or are you going to sit here and daydream all day? Uh...Im going to race. he hopped off the ledge and walked over to his car, hopping in through the window. He quickly slipped on his helmet as the crew members did up his window. He took a few deep breaths as the female announcers voice rang out through the track. Gentlemen! START YOUR ENGINES! ***** Junior kicked at some dirt on his way back to the bus. He placed thirteenth. He was not happy with how he raced. Damn her... he muttered as he flung open his bus door and wandered inside to take a shower and get dressed. He was going out tonight. He showered quickly and pulled on some kakhi pants and a silky blue shirt. He glanced at himself in the mirror once before grabbing his keys and exiting the bus, heading over to Tony Stewarts bus. Junior knocked on the door a few times before Tony rushed to the door and laughed. You always have the worse timing, you know that right? he held the door open. I planned it like this. he laughed as a beer was shoved in his hand. He popped the top and took a long swig. Lets go! Tony hooted as he flung open the door to the bus and headed over to his car. Junior followed him out and slid into the passenger side, slamming the door shut as the men took off for the nearest club. ***** Amber laughed lightly, sipping on her Smirnoff Ice and glancing around the club. She was drug to this club with her friends Katy and Blaze. Amber, lighten up already! Blaze barked, taking a drink of her beer. There are tons of hot guys around here. Stop sulking and go get one. We are at one of the hottest spots in San Francisco. She shook her head as she looked around the club. They had decided to go to The Red Room. Amber stood up and rolled her eyes as she made her way out onto the dance floor. I should never let them talk me into actually going to a place like this. ****** Tony? Why the hell would you pick a place like this to go clubbing at? Dale glanced up at the giant sign. The Red Room. This doesnt look like a very safe place. Tony laughed. Shut up. The men made their way into the club and found a table secluded in one of the many corners. They ordered beers for themselves and once Dale got his beer he set off for the dance floor. He turned his head at a light laugh and smiled when he saw a curvy brunette at the center of a few guys. Once she had broken away from the guys and was alone dancing slightly to the music, he decided to go over and talk to her. He slowly walked over to her, and tapped her on the shoulder. Can I help you? She turned around and smirked. Dale. Amber? She laughed. In the flesh. What are you doing here? Needed to get off of the bus and go have some fun. What are you doing here? Just out with the girls. Sorry to hear about the race today. I was hoping that you would win. She flashed him a smile. Yeah, and thanks for telling me that you were the singer today. You never asked. She sipped on her drink. What do you say we go sit down and talk? he held out his hand. Sounds fine to me. She smiled to herself as she graciously took his hand and let him lead her off to the table <-- Previous Chapter | Take Me Home | Feedback? | Kaotic Angel's Fiction | Next Chapter --> |
