He pushed the red rimmed Oakleys up onto his nose, glancing around at the scenery around him. The loud revving of engines brought him back to life. He pushed himself up off the chair and headed out of the bus, into the pale skies of California. You ready?, Tony his crew manager called to him. Dale looked up into the sky. I dont think there are going to be any races today. He chuckled slightly feeling the first few drops of rain come from the sky. The sky was painted a greyish color with streaks of lighting flowing throughout the sky. The rain started to pour in sheets and the men all headed for their buses, awaiting to see if the race was going to be rain delayed. Sure enough after an hour of steady down pour, the race had been postponed until the next day. He quickly walked over to his refrigerator and popped open the top to a Budweiser Beer, savoring the taste as the bronze colored liquid flowed down his throat. He peered out a window, sighing as the rain kept on coming. ******** Just my fucking luck! Stuck outside without an umbrella and its thundering and lighting outside. Great Amber! Way to go Slick. Amber rolled her eyes as she cussed at herself for forgetting her umbrella. She searched around for a place of shelter but couldnt find any at that given moment. She was on the side of a huge bus, that was shielding some of the rain from her. She spun around a few times and glanced down at her shirt. Im a mess and what a day to wear a white tank top. She laughed bitterly and kicked at some grass. ******** Popping the top to another beer, Dale took his place back at the window. He smiled when he saw a woman who looked no more than twenty one looking a little lost. She was drenched from head to toe, without any source of shield from the rain. Her long brown hair was stuck to her face and body. He smiled when she kicked at some of the grass, just causing more water to go flying all over her. Deciding to help her, he stood up and opened up the bus door, smiling at her. Hey? Turning around quickly Amber bit her lip. Hey. You look like you could use a place to get out of the rain. Yeah, Ive been looking for a place but unfortunely I cant find one. Know anywhere? She questioned him, sputtering in the rain. Come on in. He motioned for her to enter his bus. I dont want to intrude. You wont be. Now get in here out of the rain. he flashed her a smile and watched as she timidly walked up the few stairs and into the bus. I wont bite. She chuckled nervously, looking over to him. I am dripping wet. I am going to make a mess of this place. He smiled and walked into the back and came back and produced a towel. He tossed it in her direction and she caught it. Thanks. She quickly towel dried herself off the best that she could and wrapped her hair up in the towel. She took a seat across from him and smiled. Thank you so much for letting me get out of the rain. It was getting cold. She blushed. It looked like it. he stood up. You wanna beer or something? I have Smirnoff Ice in here also. Oh. A Smirnoff would be great. He shut the door to the small fridge and handed her the cold bottle. Thanks. No problem. So who were you here to see? She smiled sheepishly. You and Kevin. He glanced at her and grinned. Well you really lucked out than, didnt you? Yeah, I guess you could say so. She took a giant gulp of her drink and smiled. ****** (Two hours later) The loud sounds of thunder crashed against the sky, lighting flickered in the back round making the only light from the night. I should really be going. My car is somewhere out there. Amber slurred drunkenly. Dale laughed. You are completly drunk, you are not going anywhere. You can just stay here tonight and than you can find your car in the morning., No way was he going to let her drive home drunk with the type of weather they were having. She giggled and fell over, crashing her head against the side of the bus. Dale gasped but laughed lightly before hopping up and sliding his hands under her body, and picking her up, carrying her from the front of the bus, to the back where the bed was. He gently laid her down amongst all of the pillows, and smiled. She was beautiful. Her brown hair was a contrast to the light creamy colored sheets. I will open up if you promise to give in/on this perfect night let the two of us be one He sat quietly in a chair, watching her sleep. She would stir every now and than but other than that, she was out like a light. He stripped down to his boxers and climbed underneath the sheets, rolling over to watch her sleep. He usually never did this, let a woman whom he just met into his life like he already had. He had spilled his life to her already. Everything from his childhood, up to his great fathers death. He smiled when he watched her eyes flutter open. Oh my goodness. I am so sorry for falling asleep. She rubbed her head. My head hurts. Thats because you hit it on the side of the bus. his eyes glinted playfully as a streak of lighting flashed in the backround. Oh. She smiled and looked at him. He smiled and rested a hand on her hip before looking her in the eyes. He wanted to kiss her. Damn he really wanted to kiss her. He was caught off guard when her lips came crashing down onto his. He smiled slightly, thinking that she was reading his mind before and pulled her body closer to him, and quickly wrapped his arms around her body, making sure to deepen the kiss.
