Then and Now Chapter 35 Nick set Lis down on the couch in the guys cabin. "I'll go get the first aid kit. Should be something to wrap her ankle with in there right?" he asked Kevin who was nervously pacing the room. "Huh? Oh sure yeah." Kev replied, he followed Nick into the bathroom. "Nick we gotta talk." "Okay talk." Nick said, checking the cupboards for the first aid kit. Brian walked in a minute later, "Hey guys I need the shower in here." "In a sec, guys I gotta tell you something." Kev said shutting the door. Both Nick and Brian stared at him confused. "Something up Kev?" Bri asked. Kev nodded, taking a deep breath not exactly sure how to phrase things. "Well guys uh..."Ang and Ryan walked into the kitchen of the girls cabin, soaking wet from the rain. "Hello?" Ryan called, looking for signs of life. "Hey." Aimee said walking into the room with towels. "You read my mind." Ang said taking a towel from her friend and starting to dry her hair. "Yeah...we kinda might have a small situation on our hands." Aimee said quietly. "What kind of situation?" Ryan asked, peeling his shirt off. Both girls stopped and stared at him for a minute before Aims continued. "Ang, remember how Han and Lis broke up with their boyfriends?" "Yeah..." "Well I don't think the boyfriends are aware of that fact...cuz they're sitting in the living room." Ang sank down onto the nearest chair. "Oh boy...Bri know that yet?" "Kevin was gonna tell them he took them over to the guys cabin. But what the heck do I do with them?" "I'll help you keep them occupied." Ang said, standing back up. "What?" Nick said, in a rather loud voice. "Shhh!" Kev said, trying to calm his little brother down. "I think we have a right to be angry, our girls' exes happen to be in the next cabin!" Brian hissed. "From what Aims said, they aren't aware they're exes." "What?" Brian nearly yelled. He opened the door to see Han wrapped in his robe sitting on the couch next to Lis, both girls staring at him. HE waved and shut the door. "You think something is going on?" Han asked, staring at Brian as he waved and slammed the bathroom door shut. "Definitely. When was the last time they acted this strange, plus now Kev's involved." Lis said, resting her ankle on the table. "Well they were pretty weird when we first came to Tampa...but this is a little wack." "If I could I'd go snoop but," Lis looked at her ankle, "I'm confined to the couch." "Would that be your oh so subtle way of getting me to go eavesdrop?" "It would." Lis replied with a smile. "Please?" "Okay I'm going." Han jumped off the couch and started making her way across the room. Ang followed Aimee inside the living room, carrying a tray of hot chocolate. "Hey guys, this is Ang. Ang this is Boyd and Brandon." "Nice to meet you." The three said in unison. Ang smiled and sat down, they were really good looking guys. "Bet your wondering where the rest of the bunch are huh?" Brandon took a mug of hot chocolate. "Aims filled us in, they're looking for your friends. Hope they get back soon, this storm doesn't look too promising." Ryan walked in and sat down next to Ang. "Your right there, its a pretty bad storm. It'll get a lot worse before it lets up." Nick opened the door and stared at the couch Lis was sitting on the couch and Han was walking towards the bathroom door. "Can I help you Han?" he asked. "Oh I uh was going to the kitchen, grabbing a drink for me and Lis...you three want anything?" Nick turned to the other two guys who shook their head. "No we're good." he closed the door. "Guys the girls are getting suspicious." "I think we should just tell them." Brian said, "Now guys can you go so I can shower? I didn't plan on taking a mud treatment today." Kev laughed. "Okay we get the message, we're out of here." he picked up the first aid kit and ushered Nick out of the bathroom. "Go fix Lis' ankle up. I'm gonna go back to the other cabin. You guys show up when you're ready." Nick nodded and headed over to his girlfriend. Lis watched as Kevin grabbed his rain slicker and left the cabin then turned to Nick. "Whats going on?" He sat on the coffee table and put her ankle on his lap. "Storm's coming, gonna hit any minute." He busied himself with getting the bandage out of the first aid kit. "So you and Boyd...you two broke up?" She sighed. "Do we have to talk about that cheater?" Nick's mouth turned into a smile. "So its over then?" he asked, starting to wrap her ankle. "As over as our camping trip. Why?" "Cuz he's in the other cabin." "What?" Lis yelled. Nick sighed. "Apparently him and Brandon are in the other cabin. They showed up on the doorstep two hours ago looking for you two girls." He studied her face, not liking the nervous look that had appeared. "Why...why would they be here?" she asked softly, more to herself then him. "I don't know, I was hoping you could shed some light on that." Nick stated. "I really have no clue Nick." she said, looking up and seeing the worried look on his face. Brian walked out of the bathroom, wearing his new navy robe and carrying his mud covered clothes. He saw Nick and Lis engrossed in their conversation and headed into the kitchen where he found Han going through the cupboards. "Hey." he said, tossing his clothes into the laundry room. "Oh hi B." She turned to him holding two bottled water. He sat down at the table. "Small question, just take a minute...you broke up with Brandon right?" "I remember us taking a break yeah." Brian's face clouded over. "A break?" "Mmmhmm." she opened the top of her water and took a sip. "Why?" "He's at your cabin right now." Han spit out her water. "No!" "Yeah...pretty sure...him and Boyd." "Oh boy." Han whispered, sinking onto the chair. "Oh boy." Next: Chapter 36 |
