When Never Is Forever Chapter 1 "That's it! I'm not going to school tomorrow!" Sandra said as she slammed the book. "But you have to get your homework done before the party! Also, you need to know this, and anyway you know you can't skip school..." Janie started rambling. Sandra put her hand over Janies mouth to shut her up. "Ok, so maybe I won't skip school but you have to help me!!" Sandra said once she had her friends attention. They were in their senior year of High school and their parents still made them finish their homework before going to partys. Janie knew like everything and had come over to help Sandra so that they wouldn't be late. It wasn't working. After alot of proding and helping, Sandra and Janie finally got to leave. "Know what I heard?" Janie said once she was in the drivers seat. "What?" Sandra still sounded stressed about the homework thing. "I heard that there are going to be famous people at the party and that if there are, we have to treat them normally or we'll get kicked out!" Janie exclaimed. "Why didn't you tell me when I was doing my homework?!? I would have gone alot faster!!" Sandra replied, sitting up in her seat. "I wanted you to try and answer some questions right!" Janie explained. "Brain." Sandra said. "Weirdo."Janie replied. "Brain." "Weirdo." After awhile, Janie didn't reply and just stuck her tounge out at Weirdo...err...Sandra. "Baby" Sandra said sticking her tounge out in return, then relised they were at the party and quickly regained her 'senior' stance. "Who are these celebritys supposed to be anyway?" Sandra asked Janie as they walked into the party. "I don't know, a music group, I think....Uh oh, here comes your worst nightmare." Janie said. "Oh no! Hide me!" Sandra exclaimed as she tried to duck behind her friend who was alot shorter then her. Coming right towards them was, Rich, the guy that had followed Sandra around since seventh grade and people usually called 'Richie Rich' because he was, of course, rich. That's what made Sandra dislike him so much, because he had tried to buy her the minute he saw her, with abutterfly necklace. "Hello, Sandra my dear." he said as he walked behind Janie, grabbed Sandras hand and tried to kiss it. "Don't give me that 'gentleman' act, Rich. Why don't you find a money groupie to bother for a change?" Sandra snapped. She was always rude to him but he referred to it as being 'Fiesty'. "Because I want you, my Fiesty Female." he said smiling. "Shove off!" Janie dragged Rich away from Sandra by the ear and threw him into a nearby group of football players to keep him 'occupied' for awhile. "My Hero!" Sandra exclaimed dramatically when Janie returned. "I'm always beating him up, or getting him beat up when I don't want to breal my heels for you. You really should tak self-defence, he'd definatly give up then." Janie said smiling wickedly. Sandra had stopped listening, she had seen a beautiful sight. She couldn't help but stare at the totally hot guy across the room. "Hello? Earth to Sandra Marie!" Janie said snapping her fingers in front of her friends face until she turned and saw what Sandra saw. "Whoa," Janie breathed "We're here two minutes and already, we've gotten the scum of the earth beaten up and seen the guy of our dreams." Janie started fixing the hem of her skirt and checking to make sure her hair was right. "You mean the guy of my dreams..." Sandra said, still staring. "Who Rich? Oh yeah, blondie. I wish I weren't going out with Nathan!" Janie whinned. "I'm going over there." Sandra said but just stood there trying to figure out where she'd seen this guy before. Janie continued whinning about the tradgity of having a boyfriend in college and not being able to cheat on him. Sandra tried to console her friend and then Janie looked up. "Now you don't have to go over there." Janie said slowly. "Why not?" Sandra asked as she looked up. "He's coming over here." Janie replied in almost a whisper. Sure enough, the guy was on his away across the room and seemed to be headed for Sandra and Janie. He was about half-way across the room when suddenly someone knocked him over. Rich had beened shoved into him. Sandra watched in shock as Rich got up, looked at her, and started over to her without even excusing himself for knocking the guy over. "Hiya, beautiful." Rich said in a suave voice and put his arm around her. The hot guy got up and saw this. He looked slightly disappointed and went back over to his friends. Sandra ducked away from Rich and smacked him hard. "When will you learn? I'm not interested in you!" she yelled at him. She knew she was making a scene but this jerk had just ruined her chances with the hottest guy she'd ever seen! "You know you want me. Admit it." he said leaning close to her. "EEW!" she squealed suddenly like he had bad breath. She turned her heel and walked away. She felt like crying, she leaned against the wall, resting her forehead against it. She had been so embarrassed. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder. Expecting Rich and planing on kicking him, she turned around quickly. It was the guy! She couldn't believe it! After what had happened, she'd expected him to think she was insane. "Hi, I'm Nick. I saw what happened over there. Are you okay?" he said calmly looking into her eyes. "I'm...okay...I'm Sandra." she said trying not to look happy. It wasn't to hard considering what had happened with Rich. "I take it that jerk bothers you alot?" Nick said, still looking into her eyes. "Yeah, I don't know why..he was just like always obessed with me or something. I don't understand it." she replied looking down because his eyes seemed to look into her soul. "I do." he said smiling. She hadn't expected him to say those words when she wasn't dreaming and she smiled back at this thought. "Rich is just....hard to explain and hard to get rid of." she said thanks to lack of words. "So, Sandra. Now that you seem to be feeling better, would you like to dance?" Nick said jesturing towards the crowd of dancing people. "Sure." she grinned wider then she had ever before in her life. After dancing for over an hour, both Sandra and Nick were tired. They had been avoiding Rich and Janie the whole time, for they seemed very curious as to why Sandra was suddenly only dancing with one (very hot) person. After awhile, Sandra and Nick were tired from dancing and avoiding people. They decided to take a rest outside the party. "So....uhh....Nick. Do you live around here?" she said quietly, still trying to figure out where she knew him from. He looked at her like she was insane. "You really don't recongnize me, do you?" Nick asked. "No, I know you from somewhere, I just can't figure it out." Sandra explained. "Wow. I thought you were pretending not to recongnize me to get me to like you or something. Which, by the way, was actually working whether you were or not." he replied. Sandra blushed about the liking thing but felt confused otherwise. "I really don't know who you are! Please tell me before it drives me insane!" she begged. Nick grinned, trying to make her beg some more. Thwn when he saw the pleading look on her face, he gave in. "I'm Nick Carter. If that tells you." he said smiling at her. "Nick Carter....Nick Carter...." Sandra mumbled, the name rang a bell but didn't quite make a sound. He laughed at the confusion on her face. "I'm a member of the Backstreet Boys." Nick said finally. She gaped at him, dumbfounded. "The Backstreet Boys?!? The international super-stars, Backstreet Boys?" she asked excitedly. "Those are the ones. You seriously didn't know who I was?" he asked. She shook her head violently. She blushed, relising that this could be insulting. "No, I don't listen to your kind of music, I listen to bands like Aerosmith or Chumbawumba." Sandra explained. "Oh, so no love songs or easy listening for you then. Just rock or dance?" he asked. "Not unless 'Dude Looks Like A Lady' is a song you guys sing." Sandra joked. Nick laughed. "I guess I can understand that, not everyone has to like our music for me to like them." he said smiling. She grinned at him. She was really starting to like this guy. She couldn't believe he liked her, but she sure did like him. |
