Remember Me? Chapter 7 "Hey there" BJ said as Nick walked into the kitchen. "Is Trinity up?" he asked as he looked at him mom. Noticing she was dressed in an all black suit he wrinkled his eyebrows. "No She left early this morning. Go shower and change. Wear something formal. Something dark" she said quietly. BJ looked down at her cereal realizing Nick didn�t know what was going on. "Why? What? Are we attending a funeral" he said lazily. "Yes" His mother said quietly. Dropping the pop tart he was about to stuff into his face he dropped it. "WHAT?" he exclaimed. "Trinity is here because her mother died. We are going to the funeral this morning" she said softly. Staring at his mother Nick said nothing."Thanks for coming" Trinity said as she shook the last of the guest hands. Watching the men put the dirt over her mothers coffin, she let the tears run down her cheek in rivers. Avoiding the Carter�s all morning she busied herself with other people. "Why didn�t you tell me?" his voice asked. Sighing Trinity turned around and looked at Nick who stood there in a black suit. Shrugging she said nothing to him "Not now Nick" she said quietly as she wiped at some of the tears. "I�m sorry" he said quietly feeling slightly awkward. Their whole relationship never dealt with anything this serious before. "No forget it" she said as she turned to walk away. "Wait a minute are you coming back to the house?" he asked. Turning around the face him Trinity cocked her head to the side "I don�t know." she said as she looked at him sadly. Watching his golden hair billow in the wind and his blue eyes look at her behind the silver rimmed glasses she sighed. He wasn�t 11 anymore. And she wasn�t 9 anymore. It was time to give him up. "Nick�I think I am going home now. I did what I came to do here" she said gently. "No. You can�t leave yet" he said as he walked closer to her. His eyes growing wide. "Nick you don�t understand" Trinity said as she began weeping softly again. "Come here" he said as he pulled her tightly into his embrace. "If you leave Trin I would miss you so much" he said quietly. It was the first time he ever admitted it to her. Sniffing Trinity looked at him "I know. But I can�t stay here. I don�t belong here" she said quietly. "Sure you do. That house next door is empty and I am sure you would love to be there. And I will be next door and we can climb trees and eat my mom�s fat faced chocolate. Please Stay" he said gruffly.Next: Chapter 8 |
