Remember Me? Chapter 15 "Good morning" Trinity said somewhat stiffly as she walked into the kitchen the next morning to see Nick sitting and talking to her dad solemnly. Both looking up they smiled tightly at her. "What?" she asked slowly plucking an apple from the fruit bowl and taking a seat next to her dad and looking across to Nick. "Nothing" he said somewhat stiffly. Raising her eyebrows she said nothing for a moment "Ok. . " she said finally and turned to face her dad "I hope you don't mind Nick staying here. . " she said. "Trinity we need to talk" Nick said before her father could respond."What is going on?" Trinity asked staring at him as he had pulled her into the sun room. "Nothing. . I mean yes there is something going on but I am not sure how to tell you" he said looking down at his hands. Staring at him for a moment thoughts on what he could possibly say to her raced through her mind as she took in a deep breath and pushed her dark hair out of her face "Anything you have to say. . .I can handle. There isn't much you can say to me that would upset me" she said slowly. Nick nodded as he bite his lower lip "I don't know you Trin. . I thought I did. . " he said his voice choking as he looked at the sun glaring through the high rise vaulted windows. "Yes. . " she said feeling her heart wrench in her body threatening to burst free. "But I can't deal with this. .All this. . " he said his voice trailing off. "You can't deal with all this emotion. I get it. No big deal" she mumbled even though her heart was screaming with another sense of loss and her mind registered it as betrayal. But never did she expect him to stick around. "Look Trin this isn't what it seems" he began but she turned away from him "No no more. I dont want to hear it" she said then ran out. "I take it you will be on the first flight out?" Trinity's father asked Nick as he walked into the guest room to see him packing. Nick said nothing to him at first but finally he looked up his eyes red "I hope you are sure this is the right thing for Trinity" he began but her father silenced him "I know what is good for my little girl Nick, and I am sorry.
