Remember Me? Chapter 16 Nick slowly walked towards the airway to board onto the plane. "NICK" Trinity's voice came clear and loud as Nick turned to see her hurrying towards him "Nick" she called again. "Trinity?" he questioned slowly as he watched her closely as he then began running towards her "Nick" she said in a sob as he enfolded her in his arms. Repeating his name over and over again she clung to him "Please Nickolas" she begged, "I know that you can't deal with me being sick but I can't let you just leave again" she wept pulling away from him and looking him in the eyes. "No No. This is my fault. I should have. . .Jesus" he said covering her face with kisses, "I love you Trin" he said quietly. Shocked she said nothing as she looked at him for a moment "You what?" she said quietly. "I always have. When you left you broke my heart" he said. "We were too young-" she began but he silenced her placing his forefinger gently on her lips "I traveled half way around the world to make sure you are all right. I would have never if I didn't feel so strongly about you. I have always loved you, you know this" he said running his fingers through her hair. "I don't understand why you are leaving then" she said staring at him with her large green eyes. Casting his eyes to the floor he knew that if he told her what her father had said it would destroy her, and he was all she had left in this world, "I was scared. It's my fault." he said finally looking into her eyes. Trinity watched him silently for a moment, knowing what he said was a lie, but she knew she had to let him make this sacrifice. "Nickers" she began but he shook his head "I am not going anywhere. I will stay here in Paris. With you. Like you asked me too" he said quietly. "No but you can't Nickers. You have BSB and touring and I can't ask you to give that up" she said shaking her head, "I know how much this means to you" she said touching his face, hesitantly, like she had never felt him before. " No Trinity. No," he said shaking his head as he smiled tightly "You can't dictate what and what I can't do. And I choose to be with you. If I am going to be here. To care for you. You can't tell me how much I can, and how much I can't. Because even if you tried. . . I don't think I could control the way I am feeling" he said quietly. Staring at him silently she said nothing for a moment, "I don't want you to see me as you might see me within the next few months Nick" she said gently. Pulling her into a tight embrace the roar and crying of the busied crowd faded away as he could only hear and feel her life force beating beneath him and around him. 'This is right' he thought. Feeling him against her Trinity finally felt at ease, "Nick. I am scared" she admitted to him her voice betraying the uncertainty in her heart. "We can be scared together, cry together, and if you let me--love together" he said as he gently pulled away from her and cupped her face in his hands. "Love together. .. "she echoed.
