Remember Me? Chapter 12 "Why didn't you ever tell me!?" Nick demanded. Surprised, his mother looked away from Aaron and Angel. "What?" she questioned "Don't take that tone of voice with me" she warned as Aaron and Angel quickly excused themselves from the dining room. "YOU KNEW TRIN WAS SICK. AND SHE COULD HAVE DIED AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME! HOW COULD YOU HAVE NOT!" he cried. Surprised, she said nothing for a moment "Listen to me for a minute Nick-I did what I thought was best at the time. Maybe you think it isn't, but how do you tell a 11 year old something like that?" she asked. "I don't know but that was up to you to find an answer. I should have known. All these years. These wasted years.--Jesus" he exclaimed. "NICK I am your mother. Maybe I was wrong but you had the opportunity to ask me why she left, you never did. Did you even want to know?" she demanded. Casting his eyes to the ground he sighed "No...I guess not..Mom I just thought she would always come home...I guess I didn't want to know the real truth because I didn't know if I could handle it...I'm sorry" he said softly. Sighing she took him in her arms as she smiled tightly "She will be ok" she said. "I know she will--I just...." he said his voice trailing off. "I understand" she said quietly as she dropped a kiss on his forehead."I hate needles" Trinity mumbled as she rubbed her sore arm where the needle was as she walked out of the hospital. "There has to be a better way to do this" she complained. "Hi there Trin" his voice sounded. In an instant she knew who it belonged to. Looking up, she watched as his soft smile filled his face "Nick what are you doing here?" she asked quietly. "I wasn't here for you for 7 years. I have a lot of making up to do" he said quietly tears filling his eyes. Tilting her head to the side her dark hair playing with the wind she nodded slowly "This isn't a ride you will like--" she began. "Let me decide this ok?" he said softly as he approached her hesitantly and drew her into a warm embrace. "I've missed you Nick" she said quietly as she let herself finally be comforted in his arms.Next: Chapter 13 |
