A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes Chapter 11 Kristy woke the next morning to the sound of voices coming from outside of her room. She smiled as she remembered all the happenings of the night before. They had stayed at the club until it closed at 4 am, dancing up a storm and having a great time. Toni had to fly out today, but she and Dennis were definitely going to stay in touch, and Kristy had a feeling that she would be seeing Toni on the road in the near future. The Boys weren't heading up to Seattle until the next day, so she and Erin planned on spending the day with the guys and showing them some of Oregon. "Erin," Kristy giggled, thinking of her sister. "Who would've thought?" She and AJ had completely hit it off the night before and by the end of the night were acting quite cozy. Kristy laughed again as she remembered seeing Erin's reaction as "Somebody" was finishing, Kristy having just ended a long, passionate kiss with Kevin. Erin had been completely surprised to see her sister in the arms of one of the other Backstreet Boys, especially considering how intimate they were acting. As soon as the song had ended, Erin had asked Kristy to accompany her to the ladies' room, where she'd proceeded to give her sister the fifth degree. Kristy had promised she would tell Erin all about the events of the evening leading up to what she'd witnessed, but didn't want to do it in a restroom full of strangers. Erin, although still somewhat reserved about her opinion of the Backstreet Boys in general, had been very willing to concede that Kevin was gorgeous and seemed to be very smitten with Kristy. She'd also admitted that she was enjoying getting to know AJ, and well... that she thought he was extremely sexy! Kristy got up, threw on a sweatshirt, and joined Erin and Toni in the kitchen, since Erin had ended up coming home with them the night before. Toni was dressed and her bags sat by the door. "Are you sure you don't want me to take you to the airport?" Kristy asked, knowing what the answer would be. "Oh no, you guys go have fun with the Boys... Dennis will make sure I get there on time!" Toni said with a smile. Just then, a rental car pulled up and Dennis came to the door. "Hey Dennis!" Kristy greeted the band's keyboardist. "Welcome to my humble abode..." she said as she opened the door for him. "Nice digs!" Dennis smiled as he looked around. "Kevin's not going to be happy that I've seen the inside of your house before he has... ooh! Can I see your bedroom? That'll drive him nuts!" Kristy laughed, "You are too evil! It's this way," she said, leading him to her room. "So, what do you girls have planned for today?" he asked later as he loaded Toni's bags into the trunk of the rental car. "Well, as soon as we get cleaned up, we're gonna go pick the guys up, and then we thought we'd play it by ear," Kristy explained. "Yeah, we want to see what the guys are in the mood for... although, if left up to Kevin and Kristy, they'd probably just want to stay in and make out all day!" Erin teased her older sister. "Obviously you don't know AJ all that well yet, 'cause I'd bet he'd vote for that too!" Kristy threw back, causing Dennis and Toni to laugh. "So, what about you two?" "That sounds like a pretty good idea to me!" Dennis said with a mischievous grin. Toni smacked him, "We're gonna go check out Multnoma Falls like you suggested." "Well have a great time," Kristy said giving Toni a hug, "And I'll talk to you soon!"Kristy and Erin showed up at the hotel and headed to the floor Kevin had told them they'd be on. Erin kept a few changes of clothes at Kristy's for occasions when she ended up staying in Portland, and was her favorite pair of khaki draw-string shorts and a baby-blue sweater vest over a white T, her hair pulled back in a claw clip. She smiled at their reflections in the hotel's elevator. Kristy had on denim shorts, a white tank top under a crisp, white Tommy Hilfigger oxford, and white socks and K-Swiss tennis shoes, with a navy sweatshirt tied around her trim waist. She had four butterfly clips holding big chunks of her golden blond hair back. She looked like she could still be a sorority girl, rather than a respected medical professional. They got off the elevator and were greeted by a couple of the band's security guards that Kristy recognized from the night before. "Good morning Kristy," one of them smiled as Kristy and Erin approached the suites that the Boys were staying in. "Morning! Guys, this is my sister Erin..." Kristy said introducing the two men. They nodded, "AJ and Kevin told us you'd be coming by. They're not-so-patiently waiting for you..." the other said as he pointed to one of the doors. Kristy stepped to the door and took a deep breath. She had to admit that she was a little nervous about seeing Kevin again. The whole time since they'd met had been amazing, but things were moving kind of quickly, and Kristy hoped that it wouldn't be awkward between them this morning. She knocked on the door and braced herself for the worst. Kevin swung the door open and, giving Kristy a slightly nervous smile, opened his arms to her. Kristy stepped into his embrace and they held each other closely, relaxing as they realized they had both been a little nervous to see each other again. He pulled back and gently touched one of the clips in her hair. "I was wonderin' when I'd see these," he laughed. Kristy blushed, "I keep forgetting how much I put in about myself." "I like it," Kevin said as they made their way into the room, Erin having already brushed past them to join AJ. "For once I don't feel like I'm at such a disadvantage... ya know?" Kristy nodded and grinned, "But I bet I still know more about you than vice versa. I mean, heck, I even know your cat's name." Kevin smiled back, "So, let's make it even... what's your cat's name?" Kristy looked him in the eye, "Pumpkin." Kevin laughed and wiggled his eyebrows. "Oh really! Any reason in particular?" Kristy tried to act innocent, "'Cause he's an orange tabby, Mr. Know-It-All!" Kevin gave her a knowing look and she laughed and swatted his chest. He captured her hand with his large, strong one and brought it to his lips, kissing the palm. Kristy shivered and her skin tingled where his lips had been. "Oh, I do like guys who pay attention!" Kristy laughed suggestively. "And I DID!" he smirked, "I mean, how often do you get handed a step-by-step guide on how to win your woman's heart? Why do you think I read your story so many times?" "'Cause it was so well written and entertaining?" Kristy offered with a mischievous grin. "That," he laughed, "And I was trying to remember all the best parts!"Next: Chapter 12 |
