Hearts Don't Lie Chapter 9 After rehearsal the next Friday night, Kevin headed home to Kristin. He felt bad that he had not been given much time to see her after getting her at the airport. She insisted that she didn't mind being left alone and would use the time to work. They would talk when he came home, she said. Kevin knew they needed to talk. He was in love her. There was no doubt in his mind about it. He only hoped that there would be a future for them. He never wanted to loose her, and he would give her all the time she needed. From this point, he couldn't imagine his life without her in it. He pulled into the driveway and smiled. She was there. His house felt more like a home just knowing that she was inside of it. Would this become a regular occurrence? He hoped so. Kevin walked into the house and shut the door behind him. Tossing his coat and keys on a chair, he looked around for Kristin. Seeing a light on in the kitchen, he walked to it. Kristin had fallen asleep at the kitchen table. Her books and notes were spread across the table. He smiled. "Kristin," he whispered. She didn't even stir. It was no wonder she had fallen asleep with her busy schedule and graduation in two weeks. She looked so peaceful now. "Kristin," he whispered again, to no avail. He carefully scooped her up in his arms. He didn't want to wake her, so he did this as gently as possible. She curled up to him and sighed in her sleep. He wanted nothing more than to kiss her right now. He carried her up the stairs to her room. Her bed was covered in extra books and the bags she brought. He couldn't clear off the bed, so he decided to let her sleep in his bed and he would take hers. He walked a few doors down and kicked open the door to his room. He placed her in the middle of his king-sized bed and then knelt on the floor gazing at her. She was an angel. Her eyelids fluttered open. "Kevin? Where am I?" she whispered. "You fell asleep. I carried you in here because you still had your luggage on the bed. I was going to sleep in there and let you stay here. I was just leaving." He made no effort to get up. She smiled. "It doesn't look like you're going," she whispered. He reached over and ran his fingers through her hair. She pressed her cheek against his hand and closed her eyes, contentedly. "Say the word and I'll go," he whispered, his voice suddenly husky. She looked deep into his green eyes and sat up on the bed. "Stay." He crawled up onto the bed with her. He drew her into his arms and held her tightly. He kissed her gently on the cheek, then the other cheek, her forehead, then her nose..... As their lips met it was all over. The emotions that had been suppressed for weeks came flying out. They had lied to each other and themselves, but they couldn't lie to their hearts any longer. "God," he groaned, as they finally parted. He gazed at her with longing. Her cheeks were flushed with passion. "What just happened?" she asked. "I don't think we're 'friends' anymore," he replied, waiting for her reaction. "Is that a bad thing?" she asked, blushing. "No." He pulled her close and seized her lips in a passionate kiss. She whimpered against him. "Kevin," she pleaded, her desire racing. He pulled away, breathless. "If I don't stop and leave now, this will go too far," he moaned. "Why stop it?" she said seductively. He looked at her in shock. "Is this something you want?" "Since the day I first saw you." "Kristin....." he began. She silenced him with a kiss. "No more words." He got up from the bed and shut the bedroom door. She stood up to watch him intently. He pulled his shirt off and threw it on the floor. He grabbed her arm and forcefully pulled her to him, crushing her against his chest. He kissed her again, leaving her weak. He grabbed her in his arms and carried her to the bed. Tenderly laying her down, he covered her body with his. "Are you sure?" he asked. She nodded. "I've never been more sure of anything."Next: Chapter 10 |
