Hearts Don't Lie Chapter 20 "Boston, Massachusetts are you ready to party?!" AJ screamed out to the audience. His question was met with the cheers and screams coming from the entire audience, including the five girls who were seated in the front row. "Then let's 'Get Down'!" Kristin went nuts, as that was one of her favorite songs. She was bouncing everywhere. Mattie laughed to see her best friend so happy again. Nick caught her eye and gave a small wave. Mattie blushed and waved back. Leighanne snickered and glanced around. Kristin hadn't noticed yet, but several of the fans were holding posters saying "What did she say Kev?" and things along those lines. Leighanne smiled. This could be good for Kristin; the fans really seemed to care what happened. After a few more numbers, the guys slowed things down a bit. Kevin began to head up to the piano. "Back to Your Heart" would be the next song played. "Hello y'all!" he called. "As some of you may know, the next song we're doing is one I wrote, and has always had special meaning to me. Tonight especially, this song means so much to me. I can see the signs y'all have and I bet you're dying to know what happened. First I want to express my thanks to local DJ Matt Segal. Next, I need to express my thanks to someone very special to me," he looked directly at Kristin. Her eyes were shining brightly. "I want to thank my joy and my reason for living. I want to thank her for always making me smile and keeping me happy. She's my best friend and I think it's safe to say the others guys think the same of her. She's my life. I want to thank her for taking me back and forgiving me for making the stupidest mistake of my life. I love her with every beat of my heart. Kristin, baby, I love you.....and thank you." Kristin blew him a kiss. The fans in the audience could see the tears shining in the couple's eyes. The audience went wild. A few fans near Kristin told her congratulations. She was grateful for the seemingly positive reaction from the fans. That night "Back to Your Heart" had a more personal meaning than it ever had. Kevin could barely hold back his emotions. Kristin beamed from the audience. It was good to be back in her circle of friends. After the concert, everyone decided to forego any after-parties and headed back to the hotel. Kevin wrapped his arm around Kristin's waist and refused to let her go. "Kev, I'm not going anywhere. You can let go," she said, as they headed up to his room. "No way. Now that you're back, I'm never letting you go ever again." She turned to face him as they reached his door. "I promise that I'll never leave you again," she whispered. He kissed her passionately. His kisses were urgent. She clung to him, unable to support herself. "Why don't we take this inside?" he whispered, huskily. "I thought you'd never ask," she whispered back, shutting the door behind them.Next: Chapter 21 |
