Hearts Don't Lie Chapter 18 Kristin chuckled to herself as she listened to her favorite morning radio program. As usual Matty and Billy were finding ways to torture and humiliate Randy. Leave it to "Matty in the Morning" to totally cheer her up. "Well this is something interesting. We have one of the Backstreet Boys on the phone right now. They'll be in town in a few days and we weren't expecting to hear from them until then. But who are we to tell him he can't talk?" Matty Segal said. "Good morning Kevin Richardson!" Kristin nearly drove her car off the road. Hot tears began to slip down her cheeks. She pulled into the first parking lot she came to. Why was she crying now? She had been doing so well. "Morning Matty!" Kevin's voice said. "What do we owe the pleasure of this unexpected call?" Matty asked. "Well Matt, I'm calling to ask you a favor. You see, about a month ago I made a horrible mistake with someone I love dearly. I drove her away from me and I haven't been able to eat or sleep....." Kristin was sobbing silently. "Wow Kevin," Matt noted. "She's from the Boston area and I know she loves this program. I hope to god she's listening now....." "I am Kevin," she whispered. "Matty, I'm calling to apologize to her on the air. I want her and everyone else to know how sorry I am and how much I love her. I'm sending a car to her home the day we arrive in Boston. If she'll take me back, she'll get in the car and see me. I'm really out on a limb and risking it all here. Kristin, I love you more than anything and I am so sorry. I'm begging you to take me back," his voice was wavering. Kristin sobbed. "Matt, my favor is to play this song for her. I wrote it for the album and I know it's not released yet, but please do this for me. Please play it, because it expresses my feelings." For once Matt had no snide remarks. "Sure Kev. Good luck and let us know what happens." "Thanks Matt." Kristin buried her face in her hands and let out heart-wrenching sobs as "Back to Your Heart" filled her car.Next: Chapter 19 |
