Did you get any offers up here?" "Only one and that was for $28,000 to start. And that was in Newton. That's a little further than I want to go." "Ok, and this place offered you $40,000 to start?" "Yes! That's what's killing me! I could really nicely live off that salary here. $40,000 is so much more there!" "I think you know your answer K," Mattie said gently. "Matts, I'm scared to go." "Kristin, obviously you were ready to leave Boston when you started interviewing down there. Why are you scared now?" "Because now I'll be alone. Before, I had Kevin with me," she whispered. "I don't want to tell you what to do Kristin, but I think it's time for you to move on. You can start a whole new life down there." "Orlando's not that big of a city, Matts. Eventually I'll run into him." "And when you do you'll be a stronger person." Kristin hugged Mattie. "Will you come see me?" Kristin asked. "Don't be surprised if I end up there myself some day." The girls laughed. "Matts, can I use your phone?" Mattie handed Kristin the phone. "Mr. Walker please, this is Kristin Donovan," she said. After a few seconds, she started talking again.
