Destiny Is Everything Chapter 7 - Meeting A.J. The phone rang around 4 p.m. Danielle was sunbathing in the backyard, when she reached over to her right and pushed the talk button on her cordless phone. "Hello?", Danielle said. "Hey, beautiful. Guess who?", Brian said on the other end. "Umm, well, I'm hoping it's Leonardo DiCaprio, ready to whisk me away forever to a deserted tropical island," Danielle answered. "Whaat??", Brian asked, crestfallen and confused. Hearing his tone of voice, Danielle hastily said, "No, Brian! I was only joking. Gosh...you're the man of my dreams, sweetie. I don't even like DiCaprio--that pretty boy/play boy combination doesn't impress me." "Really?..." [followed by brief silence and then he thinks, "You're not far off from being the woman of my dreams...."] "Hey, Dani-wanna go out tonight?", Brian asked. "Hmm, the infamous second date. How's it ever gonna live up to the first?", Danielle said. "It will~somehow. The guys wanna meet you. They keep heckling me about it. Are you up for that tonight? And then we can go off somewhere." ''Sure, That'll be wonderful. Can't wait to have a personal meet-and-greet with the BSB themselves." ''Great. I'll come by at 7." " 'K. See you then, Brian." "Bye, Dani."Fifteen minutes before 7, Danielle was putting the final touches on her ensemble. She quickly ran her fingers through her loose hair and made sure her lipstick didn't smudge. Her powder-blue strappy tank dress flattered her slender, shapely figure. She tucked some loose tendrils of hair behind her ears and sat down on her bed to slip her feet into her black open-toe sandals. As she was doing so, she reflected on the current thing she had going with Brian. Being that she really wasn't a BSB fan and all, she never imagined that she could ever envision herself going out with any one of them. Heck, the chance of even dating one of them was so ridiculous--so minute--that she had a better chance of being swept up in a hurricane, never to be seen by her family and friends again. But now that she-she, the one-in-a-fifty million ladies, who got to date Brian-had met him, she could only feel so lucky, so fortunate to know him personally. He was the perfect gentleman, so sweet and concerned, too. She loved the romantic side fo him, also. How many girlfriends did she know who had boyfriends who romanced their mates on a regular basis-and enjoyed it, too? Still deep in her thoughts, Danielle didn't hear the bell ringing until the third or fourth buzzing. She hurriedly ran down the steps to the front door and opened it. Standing there was an ever-breathtakingly beautiful Brian, decked out all in black from head to toe. He wore a black oxford shirt, with black tie, and black pressed pants with black shoes--in fact, from having seen the episode of "The View" because her cousin kept playing it over and over again on the VCR, Brian looked like he had just stepped off the set of that talk show and straight up the walk to her house. "W-wwow," Danielle couldn't help but say, seemingly speechless. Brian laughed (he didn't take compliments well, remember? That was a compliment, even though it was merely an interjection.) self-consciously. Eyeing Danielle, he said, "Beautiful and sexy, as always." Then thinking that she probably thought he meant himself, he quickly added, "I meant you-not me." She laughed, fathoming his purpose behind those flattering words and blushed lightly. "Thank you." They rode over to the BSB beach house. "Hey, guys?", Brian yelled when they got inside. "D'ya want something to drink, Dani?" "Yep. But I'll get it myself." "The kitchen's straight down from here. Just go through the swinging door and you're there." "Thanks," she said as she made her way to the kitchen. A.J. was the only one in the kitchen when she got there. Seeing her, he instantaneously gave a low, long catwhistle. "Wow. And who are you, if I may ask, Miss Beautiful, Gorgeous Darlin' ?", A.J. inquired. Blushing the deepest shade of red imaginable for humans, she stuttered, "I-I'm here w-with Brian. He's in the l-l-livingroom." "Hey, I don't bite. Don't be nervous." "I'm not. It's just that-", Danielle was cut off by Brian's entrance into the kitchen. "Hey, Bone. What's up?" Noticing that Danielle was so red, he asked, "Baby, is something wrong?" "No, A.J. was just..." "A.J., what'd you do to her, man?", Brian demanded. "Nothing, I swear. I was complimenting her by calling her "Miss Beautiful, Gorgeous" darlin'. I swear, that was all I did," A.J. said. "Oh. Well, she's like me. You know....," Brian trailed off. "I see," A.J. said, understanding what he meant. "So where are the other guys?" "They went to the store." "But I said I was gonna introduce them to Danielle. By the way, A.J., this is Danielle. And, um, you probably know that this guy here, with dyed hair, large hoops, shades, and wacky facial hair, is A.J. McLean." "Gee, thanks. Why'd ya have to make me sound so freak-ish, Bri?", A.J. complained. "Cuz you are and we all know it," Brian said, in a joking tone. "Tell them they'll meet Danielle another time, 'k, Bone?", Brian said. "Sure." "See you later," Brian bid A.J. goodbye. "Bye, Danielle. It was nice to finally meet you," A.J. said. "Yes, it was nice to meet you, too, " Danielle returned warmly. "And sorry for embarassing you like that." "Don't worry about it," Danielle said, looking downwards, a bit shy about the earlier incident. "You weren't trying to hit on her now, were you?", Brian asked suspiciously. "No, no. I'm not like that," A.J. said innocently. "Right," Brian replied, not believing him totally. "Well, see you." "Have fun, little kiddies!", A.J. called out as Brian and Danielle left to go out.Next: Chapter 8 |
