Destiny Is Everything Chapter 14 - Always Forever Later that day, Brian sat alone in his bedroom, staring out the window. He needed time to be alone in order to sort out his feelings and the chain of events that had taken place earlier that day. His heart told him what he knew to be true all along: he still loved Danielle. Because he loved her, he would give her a second chance. All that Danielle had said about her ex seemed believable, but she had never mentioned him before in any of their conversations with each other. But why would she? Any woman who had that type of brute as a boyfriend would do anything to keep all memories relevant to him buried deep in the recesses of her mind. Brian wanted desperately to be there for Danielle, especially since the resurfacing of her ex-boyfriend. He was obviously in pain, but there was no question that Danielle was, too. The phone on Brian's nightstand rang. On the second ring, he picked up the phone and said "hello." "Hey...it's me-," said a gentle but tentative voice on the other end. "Hi, Dani," Brian said. "How are you feeling?" Danielle asked, concerned. "Well, I've felt better--but I'll be alright. Really," Brian reassured her. "Is it fine with you if I come over for a bit?" Danielle asked. "Yeah. Sure, you can." " 'Kay, I'll be over in ten minutes. Brian...?" "Yes?" "I love you, sweetie. I really do." Brian's voice cracked momentarily as he replied, "Same here....." When they hung up, Brian repeated in a barely audible whisper, "Same here..."Next: Chapter 15 |
