A Song With A Story Chapter 1 "If I could right the wrongs that made you cryI would promise not to say goodbye" ~*~ "Baby you know I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. Please forgive me baby, please." Howie begged to the door, resting his forehead against it in pain. "Just.... leave me alone, I need to think, to be alone." Alicia said, leaning against the other side of the same door. "You know I love you, right? I would never intentionally hurt you." he pleaded. No reply. "I love you so much." came his last words before getting on the elevator and leaving. Once she knew he was gone, she let out a sob and sank to the floor, the image of Howie in another girl's arms once again floated through her mind like an all-too-clear bad movie scene. ~*~ "'Cause I'm holding on with a love so strong And I can't take the day without you by my side" ~*~ "It hurts so much, what I did to you. I can't imagine how you must be feeling right now. I need you. Please, just pick up the phone, Ali, please." Howie pleaded. She just stared at the answering machine, like it was a car accident and she couldn't help but look for casualties. She knew there were none, not of the living kind at least, just her love. It wasn't dead, far from it, just injured. Along with her trust. She could hear the pain in his voice, she wondered if what she was doing was fair. Maybe not. The picture of them kissing eachother, holding eachother, flashed through her mind once again. She didn't pick up the phone. ~*~ "Girl if I could change, if I could change your mind Baby you could help me wipe these tears from my eyes" ~*~ "AJ man, I just don't know what to do. She won't answer my calls, she won't see me, she wouldn't even look at me." Howie told his friend, the pain very evident in his voice. "Howie, why did you do it? If you care for her so much, why cheat on her? Why hurt her like this?" AJ asked. "I don't know.... I just..... got caught up in the moment I guess. I didn't even know the girl. I hadn't seen Alicia in three months and I guess I figured if all we did was kiss, it wouldn't hurt anything. It wouldn't have gone farther, I swear it." "You have gotten your self into some trouble. I don't think theres anything you can do but hope she forgives you on her own." "I wish there was a way to make everything right again." "Just give her some space, man. Give her a chance to forgive you." ~*~ "Girl don't stop the sun from shining down on me 'Cause I can't face another day without your smile. And if you take away the loving arms that surround me Then I might break down and cry just like a child" ~*~ Alicia sat alone in the silence, feeling sorry for herself mostly, but still angry. Howie hadn't called for awhile, in a way in was a relief, but in a way it made her worry. What if he had given up? She tried to tell herself she didn't care if he did. She tried to tell herself that he wouldn't change. She tried to tell herself, but she wouldn't listen. ~*~ "Girl I can't belong and I won't be free If I fail to bring your lovin' back to me" ~*~ "I just can't perform tonight, tell them I'm sick." Howie said apologeticly. "You've got to, D, you can't just sit alone feeling sorry for yourself. You did something, now you gotta pay, thats the way love is." Kevin said. "I need to think of a way to get her back. I feel like a helpless little kid, hoping his mommy won't be mad because he got mud on his new church clothes. Theres nothing I can do to fix what I've done, just hope that she forgives me." "Fine, I just hope you feel better soon." Kevin replied, and left. ~*~ "So I'm pressin' on, I hope you understand That there's a broken heart that lies within your hands" ~*~ "I told AJ I wouldn't call anymore, but I can't think of what else to do. It hurts so much to be without you. I'm trying to give you space, give you a chance to forgive me. I can't stop thinking about you. Theres no excuse for what I did. But I'm sorry for it. I'll regret it as long as I live. She meant nothing to me, all we did was a kiss. I guess I was lonely, I don't know. But please, please, forgive me." he hung up on the answering machine, wishing once again that none of this had happened. ~*~ "So if I could change and it won't hurt your pride Baby you can help me stop these tears from my cryin" ~*~ Nervously, she picked up the phone and dialed Howies number. She had to talk to him. He picked it up on the first ring. "Hello?" Howie asked eagerly. "Howie." she said. Not a question, a statement, like a fact. "Alicia! Baby, I love you. I need you so much! Please!" "Howie." she said again, softer this time, tears were running down her face, she choked back a sob. "I promise I will never hurt you ever ever again. I'll try to be everything you ever wanted me to be. Please, just stop this pain." he begged with so much sincerity in his voice. "Howie. I love you too. I guess I can give you another chance. It's hurting me too much not to." Alicia said with pain and tears in her voice. "Oh, Ali, I'm so sorry for what I did to you. I promise I'll never ever do anything like that ever again." "Shut-up, just come over here." "I'll be right there." ~*~ "Like a child, just like a child With the spirits runnin' free She showed me why, oh she did Like a child, just like a child Think of what our love could be If our hearts could set us free Like a child" ~*~ When he got there, he scooped her up in his arms and kissed her. They talked for awhile, and, as they say in Fairy Tales, they lived happily ever after. But not every love story ends so happy, but every song has it's story, and hopefully, I'll help to fill in the details. Next: Chapter 2 |
