Sweet Dreams Chapter 5 The guys came in next with flowers. "Hey Caroline," Kevin said handing her the flowers. "Hey," she said quietly. She was still distracted by the news she just heard. "How are you feeling?" Nick asked. "I don't know. Have you guys visit Brian yet?" "Yeah. The doctors say he's doing better, but he's still in a coma," A.J. said. "Is he allowed to have visitors?" "Yeah." "I'll be right back. I'm going to go see him." "Okay. We'll be in the waiting room," Howie said. Caroline took an elevator to section E of the hospital where they kept all of the patients that were in critical condition. She went to room 34A where Brian was staying and closed the door. She walked over to the bed and held Brians hand. "Baby, if you can hear me, I need you." A tear slid down from the corner of her eye. "We're all holding up as best as we can. And your family is on a plane from Kentucky on their way here. I need you to be here and tell me that everything is going to be okay, but I know you're just as lost and confused as I am. And when you come back to me, I'll be here. I'll always be here." "Excuse me miss, your time is up." "Goodbye," she said before letting go of his hand. When Caroline came back to her room she found her clothes folded up neatly on the corner of the bed. She figured she could leave so she slipped on her clothes and went to the waiting room where the rest of the guys were. "Hey guys." she said with a little smile. "You can leave?" Nick asked. "It looks that way. By the way, where's Howie?" "He went to go meet Brian's parents at the airport," A.J. said. "Oh. Nick can we talk for a minute?" "Sure." They walked to a more private part of the room. "Okay, before I tell you this you have to promise not to tell anyone. I mean NO ONE. This is between you and me," she said in a serious tone. "Can I trust you?" "Sure you can tell me anything." "Okay, where do I begin. Okay, this morning the nurse told me I was pregnant." "What! Pregnant?! Wait a minute, shouldn't you be telling somebody else this news." "Shhhhh. Keep it quiet. And you said I could trust you. Yes I am pregnant. And I'm just as surprised as you are. Anyways, you can't tell Brian's parents because they don't even know we're going out, let alone me being pregnant. When Brian wakes up I need you to give this to him for me." She handed him a small white envelope. "I just wanted to say goodbye." "Wait where are you going?" "Home. I'm going home." She gave Nick a hug even though she could tell he was a little confused. She gave the rest of the guys a hug and left the hospital just as Brian's family came in. At her apartment she started to pack her suitcase and came across a photo of her and Brian. She didn't want to leave him like this, but she needed someone there for her. She needed help. And she had no clue what to do. She put the photo in her suitcase got into a taxi and left for the airport.Next: Chapter 6 |
