Sweet Dreams Chapter 6 "Where is my son. Is he okay? What happened?" Mrs.Littrell said as she rushed frantically in the hospital. "Aunt Jackie please calm down," Kevin said in a soothing tone. "Calm Down! My baby is in the hospital and you want me to calm down! Kevin tell me what happened." "Well I wasn't there, but Nick told me that that he and Brian were playing basketball and he collapsed." "How is he doing?" Mr.Littrell asked trying to stay calm. "He slipped into a coma while they were operating. It was an allergic reaction to the medicine they gave him. They finished operating and now he's in critical condition." "Is he allowed to have visitors?" Mrs.Littrell asked. "Yeah, but only one at a time," A.J. said. "I'll be right back," she said jogging to the nurses desk. "Hi, do you know what room Brian Thomas Littrell is in?" From the looks of it the nurse had to be at least 94 years old. She had snow white hair and thick bio focals. And don't even ask how s-l-o-w she was. "Is the name L-i-t-t-r-e-l-l? she said shuffling through some papers."Yeah that's it," Jackie said impatiently. "He's in room 34A." "Thanks." She jogged down the hall and quietly entered Brian's room. She sat down by her son's bed and held his hand until it was time to leave. Just arriving in her hometown of Frederick, MD Caroline smelled the fresh air. It was good to be home. She grabbed her luggage and caught a taxi to her sisters house. Her sister lived in the suburban part of Frederick in a little community called Amber Meadows on 1797 Valley Side DR. She paid the taxi driver and stood in front of her sisters huge house. To be honest Caroline felt a little nervous. She seen her sister ever since she left for college. She was divorced with a 15 year old daughter. Caroline walked up the stairs to the house and rang the door bell. She anxiously awaited as the door opened. "Oh my god! Caroline what are you doing here?" Serena said as she gave her sister a hug. "Hey Serena, it's good to see you!" They walked in the house and closed the door. "God, how long has it been?" "A long time. God I missed you so much," she said giving Serena another hug. "Hey, where's little Britney?" "Well Britney isn't so little anymore. Since when did kids hit puberty so early? Anyways she went to the movies with her friends. She should be back soon." "Oh. Well, we should start catching up. Where do I put my bags?" "The second set of stairs, three doors down on the right." "Do I need a map to find it?" she said jokingly. "Come on I'll go with you." She led Caroline to her room. Caroline sat her bags down in the huge closet. "Don't you think this room is kinda big for the guest room?" Caroline said looking around. "You should see how big the regular rooms are." "Why did you buy this place if it's just you and Britney?" "Me and Chad bought this place after we got married. Then we divorced and I got stuck with it." "Sounds fair. I mean it's better than living in a cramped apartment." By now the two were lying on the bed talking. "So, what's been going on in old Frederick?" Caroline said getting a pillow. "Nothing much. Still the same place. Do you remember Miss Olivia?" "Yeah. The old lady that used to make me pick apples off her tree cause she was too "old" to get them." "Well she died a couple of weeks ago." "Aww, that's so sad. She was a good woman." "Yeah. Her funeral was beautiful." "How's her family holding up?" "They're holding up just fine after they inherited the 5 million dollars stashed in her will." "Those kids were always greedy." "So how are things with you in Florida?" Caroline was debating whether she should tell Serena about the news. "Things are fine. Just peachy." "That's it?" "Well, I met this really nice guy." "Ooohhh tell me all about him." "Well, his name is Brian and he's nice and funny and sweet and-" "Alright I get the picture. What does he do?" "Oh he's in a band." "Oh god please don't tell me you're going out with some guy with long hair that has dreams of becoming a rock star." "Actually he's the complete opposite. And the band is very successful." "Well what's the name of this band. So I know if I've heard of them before." "They're called the Backstreet Boys." "They sound familiar. I think Britney mentioned them before. Oh, wait you don't mean those five guys Britney has plastered all over her bedroom walls?" "Yep those are the ones." "Yeah, I think their names are Nick, J.C., Brian, Justin, and Kevin." "No you got it all wrong. It's Nick, Brian, Kevin, A.J., and Howie." "Oh well that's what I meant." "Well anyways I met him during dance rehersal when I had to fill in for someone. They were rehersing for their new video." "Well I'm so happy for you." "Serena I... nevermind." "What? What is it?" "Well I sorta have to tell you something, but you have to promise you won't get mad." "What did you do max out all of your credit cards?" she said laughing. "I'm serious." "Okay I'm all ears." "Okay. Well earlier today I found out that I was pregnant by Brian whose in the hospital because he collapsed while playing basketball and he never told his parents that we were going out which made me even more confused so I told Nick that I was going home and that's when I came here because I needed someone to be here for me now so I can get my life together oh Serena my life's a mess," she blabbered.Next: Chapter 7 |
