One Sweet Day Chapter 7 She drove back to the apartment and went inside. It felt so dark and lonely without Nicole there. She was about to go to her room when something made her stop in front of Nicole's room. She walked inside and looked around. She saw clothing designs scattered across her desk and her bed unmade. She noticed a piece of paper lying on the night stand. Curious as to what it was she picked it up and began to read it. Dear Tina, A tear fell on top of the letter. She quickly wiped it away. Tina figured she must have written the letter last night or this morning. She couldn't stay in the apartment moment longer. She gathered up some of her things, with the letter in her hand, and drove to Brian's. Brian sat in his office. Nothing was on in his house and all of the lights were off. He sat in his black leather chair and played with the stuffed basketball he won for Nicole at Disney World. He stared at the basketball until his eyes began to water and everything began to blur. He started crying. About 5 min later he was startled by the door bell ringing. He wiped away his tears and went to answer the door. "I'm sorry for interrupting you, but I couldn't stay at that apartment any longer," Tina said still clutching the letter. "No, it's okay. Come in." Tina could tell he had been crying, but she didn't know what to say to him. She was about to break down into tears too. She walked over and sat on the couch. There was an awkward silence between the two when Tina spoke up. "You know, when I came back from the hospital I went inside Nicole's room and found this," she said showing him the letter. "She wrote it after we had that fight. I never even told her I was sorry."Next: Chapter 8 |
