One Sweet Day Chapter 6 The phone rang at the apartment. "Hello, my name is Dr.Parker. Are you Nicole's roommate Tina Richards?" "Yes, this is she," she said beginning to get worried. "There's been an accident." After she got finished talking to the doctor she immediately called Brian who went to look for her. "Hello?" "Hey Brian you have to meet me at the hospital." "Why what's wrong?" "It's Nicole. She's been in an accident." "Okay I'll be right there." They both arrived at the hospital at the same time and rushed inside. Tina ran up to the receptionists desk. "Excuse me I need to find Dr. Parker." "He should be in the emergency ward right now, but it's restricted," she called as Brian and Tina rushed to the emergency ward. They met up with Dr. Parker just coming out of Nicole's room. Doctor, is she okay?" Brian asked feeling like he was beginning to cry. "I'm sorry, but there was nothing we could do." Tina stood there shocked and Brian leaned up against the wall and began to cry. Later on Nick and Kevin heard the news and came to the hospitals to pick up Brian because he was in no condition to drive. Kevin drove Brian's jeep back home. Tina had to stay for questioning from the doctor. "Do you know if Nicole has any relatives Ms.Richards?" he said writing something on a clipboard. "Her parents are dead and she has no siblings. Although she might have an aunt in Ohio. That's all I know," she said quietly. The doctor nodded his head. "Ms.Richards, did you know if Nicole was anorexic or bulimic?" "What? What are you talking about?" "Well, we ran some tests that show that she wasn't killed by the impact of the car crash. Her heart was weak from not enough nutrition and her heart gave out on her." "Well, I...I knew something was wrong with her, but she told me it was pressure from work. God, this is all my fault. If I had found out sooner..." "It's not your fault. When people become anorexic or bulimic it's hard to stop. It takes over your body and your mind. It's something you can't control. So you see it's not as easy as you think." Dr.Parker lead her out of the office. "Why don't you go home and get some rest. I'll call you tomorrow to come fill out some paper work. "Okay," she said leaving the hospital.Next: Chapter 7 |
