Meadow Girl by Serena ([email protected]) Chapter 8 Lily's eyes were open wide with fear. No one was around, except for the still unconscious Brian beside her. Lily looked around the room. She tried to get up and move and speak but the tubes in her throat restricted her. She then raised her left arm and placed it on her right. She pulled on the IV and yanked it from her arm. Then with both arms free began fiddling with the tube in her throat. Once free of the obstacle she immediately stood up and walked unsteadily toward Brian. Lily placed a hand on Brian's forehead, he was burning up with fever. She closed her eyes, a small tear fell. She was losing him. Just then machines started beeping. Lily knew that Brian's heart had stopped. That was why she was awake, to save him. She quickly bent down and kissed him lightly. Then searched her mind for a way to save him.(SHE'S NOT A DAMN PARAMEDIC PEOPLE!!!) The only thing she could think of was to hit him as hard as she could across the chest. She raised her arm and with all her strength struck him, again and again. Lily was sure that she had broken his ribs but kept hitting him. Nothing was happening. 'DAMNIT' She thought. Lily could do nothing to save him. She was sure he would parish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kevin and Nick had just finished their delightful hospital meal(SARCASM) and were heading toward Brian and Lily's room. It wasn't a long ways just a hallway and an elevator ride away. Before the guys knew it they were at the door of the room. The door was closed. Kevin reached for the doorknob and turned it slowly.
