Meadow Girl Chapter 2 "Brian!" Nick rushed to his friends side. "Brian, man wake up. Come on talk to me." Nick knelt beside Brian and shook him a little to try and resuscitate him. "Help!" Nick yelled at the top of his lungs. Nick checked Brian�s pulse. His heart was racing. Nick then checked his friends breathing, it didn't sound good. In fact it sounded worse. Brian's breathing was not wheeze anymore. But a long and slow rattle of a raspy gasp. "Help!!!" Nick yelled once more. Howie then poked his head out of his room and was about to give Nick heck but saw Brian limp on the floor. "Nick what happened to him?" Howie asked in a rush. "I'm not sure. I found him leaning against the wall. And I asked him what was wrong. He mumbled something and then just passed out on the floor." Nick said. "Is he breathing?" Howie asked "Yes but not to great." replied Nick. "And his heart?" "Pretty bad." Nick said with sadness for his friend. "Ok, Nick go call the paramedics. NOW!!! Howie yelled Nick wasted no time. He quickly got up and ran into Brian's room. He looked for the phone. He picked up the receiver. And dialed 9-1-1. A voice on the other end answered. "9-1-1 how may I help you?" Nick hesitated to answer. He starred blankly at the broken window. He swallowed hard. "I need an ambulance." He said. "Alright, I need you name and location sir." The voice said. "My name is Nick Carter and I'm in the Queensbury Hotel room 321. "What is the emergency?" "My friend Brian passed out. He isn't breathing very well and has a history of heart problems." Nick said annoyed by her questions. "Is he on any medications." The voice said. "No." He said bluntly. >"Ok, Help is on the way." Nick hung up the phone. He walked trying to wash the look of fear off his face and look mature and responsible. He exited Brian's room. "Are they coming?" Howie asked. "Yes." Nick said. "Howie?" "Yeh." "Brian's window is broken." Nick said to Howie. "What, how?" Howie said confused. Nick shrugged and knelt down beside Howie and the limp Brian. "What do you think is wrong with him?. He asked. "I don't know but I hope it's not his heart." Howie said. After a few more minutes of waiting the paramedics finally arrived. They put Brian on a monitor and gave him some sort of needle. Nick kept asking what was wrong but the paramedics just said that he would find out at the hospital. Nick insisted that he go with Brian to the hospital. Howie decided that he would stay and gather the rest of the guys and meet Nick there.In the hospital waiting room. Kevin, Howie, Aj, and Nick waited impatiently in the hospital's waiting room. Death and sickness surrounded them. The waited. It seemed like forever before the doctor finally came and told them what was wrong. "Hi, I�m Dr. Surris." He shook hands and introduced himself to the guys. "I'm afraid that I don't have good news about your friend." The doctor said. "Well, what�s wrong with him?" Nick said fearful of the doctors answer. "He has a heart infection. I'm afraid that there is not much chance of him surviving... I'm sorry."Next: Chapter 3 |
