District Governor Peggy Jacobson 2008-2009

We could learn a lot from crayons…some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors. But they all have to learn to live in the same box. During this coming year, District 17- O will work to carry out the International President's goals. There is nothing wrong with what we have accomplished in the past; all clubs are different, and they all work together like crayons living in the same box.

“Being a Lion or Leo is knowing that we belong to something bigger than ourselves and together we can benefit mankind worldwide!”

PDG Gary Schneider

My goal this year is to have each club brainstorm and come up with “3” club goals, with one being on membership, and the other two can be on anything regarding the club's needs. This year’s cabinet will put special emphasis on giving these clubs the tools they need to carry out the “3” goals and bring their club to the next level of success. We know that growth is crucial to our mission. It has been said that when growth stops, decay begins. A growing membership indicates vitality, excitement, enthusiasm, and strength.

Did you know that it is five times harder to enroll a new member than it is to keep a current one? A cliché often used by salespeople is, “The best customer is the one you already have.” Think about it…it really is true. This is your year, incoming Presidents, so shine as bright as you can!
