Congrats to all who were slated for district office!! We'll see you at district banquet on Wednesday!!

Most ECD Chapter visits were held prior to the ECD Greenhand Conference, which was held on Wednesday, September 29, 2004, at the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium in Ottawa, Kansas.
Four Anderson County freshman take a lesson in teamwork with the chair game as advisor Jeff Gillespie looks on during their chapter visit.
The District Officers' Conference (DOC) was held August 21-22, 2004 at Rock Springs Ranch near Manhattan, Kansas. At this event, East Central District Officers mingled with officers from other districts, learned what it takes to have a successful year as a district officer, planned Greenhand Conference, and were all-around WOWED by our great and ENTHUSIASTIC state officer team. THANKS to our state officer team for a successful and memorable weekend!!!

East Central District Officers, Advisor Mr. Barr, his wife Andrea, and brother Kyle enjoyed an officer retreat to Melvern Lake on August 8th, 2004. Among the day's activities were picture-taking at an old one-room school house, visits to a horse farm and an ostrich farm, pontooning on the lake, and dinner and a movie in Emporia. Much fun and bonding occurred, and we really opened up as a team. The following are some pics from our retreat:

Congratulations to ECD Treasurer Shaylan Ennis, who was named 2004 Miami County Fair Queen. Shaylan worked really hard to achieve this title, and we are all very proud of her.

WAY TO GO SHAY!!!

Our new ECD officer team is excited for success in the coming year!

The ECD Chapter Officer Training Day was held on Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Anderson County High School in Garnett, Kansas. Present were nine chapter officer teams who joined together in starting POA's and National Chapter work for the coming school year. Lunch was provided by the Garnett Optomists' Club and each attendee received a T-Shirt. Each chapter officer also attended a brief workshop put on by the district officers which helped them to understand their responsibilities as officers in the coming year. All in all, the day was a great success.
